Cable color is important!!!
I correctly ordered the Blue cable after first making the mistake of ordering the red cable not realizing there is a major difference, and itโs not just for looks! I needed this to connect my Korg NTS-1 to a midi controller, but first ordered the red one thinking that the color red would match the color of the rest of my equipment. Boy was I wrong! Got everything connected and nothing seemed to work. After then reading a number of other reviews I realized that the red cable has the opposite polarity and does not work with Korg products, the BLUE cable is the one which I should have ordered and is designed to work with Korg products. When the BLUE cable arrived, I plugged it in and everything instantly worked perfectly! Good product! Works the way it should! Pay attention to which color works with the product you plan to use it for!

This Type A cable works with Jackson Audio Golden Boy
The seller also has a red version of what seems like the same cable. They are not the same though, as the red one is Type B and the blue one is Type A. The red one did not work with the Jackson Audio Golden Boy, but this blue one DOES work. You will also need a stereo 1/8" to 1/4" adapter though. I tried to find one that had MIDI to 1/4" and was Type A, but I just gave up and got this one. I already had the adapter. By the way, this cable also works with Torpedo Captor X.

Type A - Works with Roland T-8, J-6, Aria etc.
Not listed, but this is the one you want for the Roland Aria mini boutique line. Take it easy on your gear, avoid socket damage, get the 90ยฐ (right angle) version even if you don't like it as much as the straight plug. Your gear will thank you. The Roland gear uses distressingly cheap 1/8" PCB mount female sockets. You need to go easy on them.

Works with Headrush MX5
I bought a Headrush MX5 with no cables. The blue one had the correct pinout for the midi plug, works great. Looks like a good cable adaptor.

MIDI Type A
This adapter worked perfectly for my Korg Volca FM2. Be certain that your TRS midi device is type A, as there are two "standards," A and B.

Works with BOSS RC-500 looper
This works perfectly with a BOSS RC-500 looper linked to other midi gear. This is a great alternative to the BOSS branded cable for anyone who is curious.

Works with Boss GT-1000Core
This Type A adapter works with the Boss GT-1000Core. The red one does not as it's Type B. I needed a longer MIDI cable than the Boss branded cables available here on Amazon, and this does the trick.

This Type A 3.5mm TRS male to 5-pin female adapter works to connect the Roland AIRA J-6 to other MIDI devices using a standard 5-pin male to 5-pin male cable. At the time I purchased this, the list of compatible devices didn't include the Roland AIRA compact series and info I found online about this was contradictory so I'm posting this in case it helps other buyers choose the right adapter.

If you're like me and trying to find a cheap way to control your MIDI enabled pedals that only have a TRS jack, this is the one you want. Works for Empress and Chase Bliss, make sure to do your research before ordering.

They are nice and short so you can use them with regular midi cables as adapters for roland aira compact synths and the volca fm2. Works flawlessly.
