Does laser measure from back of tape measure so you can butt one wall to measure to the other?

The measurement is in inches & feet at the front. The laser didnt last more than 1 year.

Love this tape measure you can choose to start your measurement from the back of the device or front I wish it had more tape but it has a huge break point in the tape seeing how thick it is so measurements on your own are a lil more simple it's durable AF and I've literally charged it once since I've had it
