This is a great lightweight sword for practice. It retracts so it fits into luggage. But the TSA may confiscate it if you try to take it on an airplane. The only problem is if one day you want to practice with a real sword, you have to build up your arm muscles, because this lightweight sword won't prepare you for the weight of a real sword.

The retractable sword itself is a great idea, but it was not sturdy enough to handle the shipping process. The item did arrive damaged on the very bottom of the handle, we glued it together but you can clearly see it was broken. For future customers I would recommend labeling the product as fragile or at least bubble wrap the bottom part of the sword.

came broken... the part of the blade that retracts was broken and it looks like someone tried to fix it but not a good job... I'm going to just use some sodder and will close it but very cheap...

Very good quality for a sword swallower prop

I bought this for our production of Aladdin. Unfortunately I didn't have the kids try them until our dress rehearsal recently. When we tried to use them they did not work. The first time we tried to "unfurl" the retractable sword, it didn't go back easily, but it sort of worked, but every time after that it simply got worse.We bought 3, we tried 2. I did not open the third. When I went to return it, I missed the "return window" by a few days. Tip - try it out immediately, so you can return within the "window".

For a cheap children's gift at around $10, this sword was perfect for my 11 year old. We actually ended up ordering a second one so that he could play with a friend. It looks decently real from afar, closes easily for pretending to die or sword swallowing and had a unique almost Japanese look to it that makes him feel included with the adults who use katanas.
