Crimps very well up to battery cables of 70mm no issues

I love this! For the money, it's a bargain. Lots of diffenct sized dies for a pro finish. I sometimes used one die the 'correct' size and the othe side a size down for an impossibly tight fit. Easy to file any sharp edges on copper lugs that sometimes formed because of this.

Did the job but quite heavy

Used for swaging stainless steel cables with copper ferrules. Being hydraulic they are of course fairly heavy which can make them awkward to use and it can be tricky to get the flats lined us exactly as you want but once you have them lined up you can crank on good and hard (so long as you had your shredded wheat that morning!). Decent range of dies which fit easily and they come with spare seals for the hydraulics. As with most tools like this probably best in their mid range. The real question being do you need something so heavy duty, and hence heavy, for the job or would swaging pliers be enough? If you need the extra power, go for it, they're good.

Great quality definitely recommend

Dangerous and Poor Quality Tool! I used this hydraulic crimping tool for just one day, and it already cracked right through the body! You can see in the photo how serious the damage is – this tool is extremely dangerous to use. It works under high pressure and could have caused a serious injury. Very disappointing quality. I absolutely do not recommend it. I hope the seller takes responsibility and provides a refund. A tool like this should be reliable and durable, not break after a single day of use.

Very good value for the money. Even though it only does from 4mm2 to 70mm2 its a solid tool and easy to use, even with one hand.

Nice piece of kit - good and solid, not at all flimsy or plasticky...amazing for the money! Comes with a good set of dies and replacement seals. The instructions even explain how to change the oil, so it's obviously been made with maintenance in mind. Exploded diagrams in the instruction book are also great to see! I've bought a lot of effluent-inspired tools in my time and it's a rare delight when something decent like this arrives in the post.

The dies are mislabelled. For example, trying to crimp a 50mm2 with the 50 die set just doesn’t clamp tight enough and the lug slides right off. This could be very dangerous in the hands of someone that’s not sure of what they are doing. I have to use the 35 for 50mm2. Tempted to return it as a result.

This is a solid quality power hyraulic hand crimper. I am so surprised its this nice! The price is unbelievable. This would be 300 dollars on a tool truck. It work beautifully. I even drilled a tiny die set out to a round hole for 2/0 cable ferrules.
