Often times, when the system or head models end in a "-H" it is a model specific to a brick and mortar store. 3M makes several lines of replacement cartridges, so you'll want to ensure that "Filtrete" specifically is listed on the replacement cartridge that you purchase. Is this, or does 3m make a filter that is the equivalent of the body glove gg 3000r (replacement filter)?

The Body Glove BG-3000r, is a proprietary cartridge. 3M does not have an equivalent cartridge.

Is this filter easy to install

Yes, it is very easy to install. There is a valve in the head, so you simply twist off the old filter and insert and twist in the new one.

How do I know when it is time to replace the filter?

Hello, According to the manufacturer, these cartridges are good for 6 months at a time. Typically, when one starts needing to be replaced, you'll stat to find a chlorine odor or taste. This will tell you that the inside membrane has worn down and the carbon has been depleted enough to become ineffective.
