The Furoshiki Handbook (Japanese-English Bilingual Books)

There are a lot of Utube video's available regarding this alternative material for wrapping. It's so unique, so I ordered a book with great information about furoshiki wrapping and to get fabric sizes to buy fabric in our USA stores. This is the second time I have purchased this book...this one is a gift

I've been trying to live a more organic stress-free life and this book is helping. It's better for the environment to use reusable bags and they look very nice. Make sure of the size if you buy one, they're different sizes. The cute kitty one I bought was too small to actually use as a bag, but it was probably too cute to actually use anyway. I recommend checking the prices and sizes at various places online. Amazon has some, and I got a huge 105cm reversible one for about $20.

This book is the real thing! I have two other books on Furoshiki, but this book does a better job of showing how to make different bags for different shapes.

I use fabrics to wrap most gifts now. Usually after the recipient unpacks the gift I'll show them how to wrap other gifts with the fabric, and they'll keep it and reuse it for their own gifts (and for family occasions, we each give and receive a few gifts, so everyone "spends" and receives a few pieces of wrapping fabric). It feels much nicer than tossing reams of wrapping paper at every birthday and celebration.

A wonderful book on Furoshiki. Good photos and instructions in both Japanese and English.

It is a great little book on Furoshiki with both some history behind it and step-by-step instructions.how-to. Even after watch all the video and information I can find, still learned a lot from the book. Happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone interested!
