Korean Children's Favorite Stories: Fables, Myths and Fairy Tales : So-Un, Kim, Kyoung-Sim, Jeong: desertcart.in: Books Review: Fun introduction to Korean fairy tales - These are fun stories for sure! Definitely a different feel from western fairy tales, but absolutely wonderful Review: A kids book. - I don't know... Feels like more generic kids stories. Kind of doesn't feel anything specifically "korean", for me lacks authenticity. More international. Like one of the stories you've heard already a hundred times just here is put in "Korea" and characters are given korean names. But as easily you can name a character John and put him in a little English village, or Hans and drop him into Alps, keeping the story unchanged... Just a book for kids. Was looking for something more in depth, original korean legends, it ain't that. Therefore I'm disappointed, if you're looking for a book for children, whatever, nothing more, you'll be fine.

Great for Bedtime Stories
The stories in Korean Children's Favorite Stories are exciting and the artwork is engaging. My sons enjoy my reading stories from this collection at night before they go to bed, and they enjoy reading the book themselves. I am a scholar of early Korea, and I have read lots of collections of Korean folk tales. This is a great book. The stories in the collection are written with panache, humor, and good English sensibility.
