Although it's just a cable, it seems to have some software that really messes up devices. Have to reboot after removing the cable. It has never worked.

I bought this cable to put my iPhone screen to my TV for Amazon Luna gaming .Then the nightmare begins….I plugged it into the tv and notice the hdmi cable needs to be plugged into a charger to work…? Umm okay I guess that’s okay because it also charges my phone.Wait.. but why is the screen glitching and I have to unplug and replug it in 5 times to get it to display after waiting for the cable to charge up , and turn on… ok now there’s a Chinese spyware application I need to download on my phone called dongscreen to change to game mode… dongscreen?… after 10 minutes of fiddling with the app and doing software updates..? I finally was able to activate game mode.I load up my game and not to my surprise, the input from my phone thru the cable was not much better than just Bluetooth casting to the screen. It also froze almost immediately every time I launched the game.I lost hope and read the about info on the software and it says something along the lines of “this dongsoft was created by a team of highly skilled engineers that strive to make this type of technology better” what a joke.Buy this cable made by ding-dongs and you get not much more than a dong-screen itself. At least the software was appropriately named for functionality sake.I’ll be using this cable to stoke my charcoal grill the next time I cook burgers. I’m sure the melted plastic tastes better than the cable works in “game mode”.TLDR; hdmi cable that needs wall charger, onboard software that requires you to download Chinese software to your phone, constant freezing, input lag, total piece of garbage, but may work for basic usage video streaming. You have been warned.

Ease of use

A good way to stream video from your phone to a non-smart TV. This used to work with my streaming TV apps like YouTube TV, Spectrum and Vidgo but now my phone carrier (V-R-Z-N) won't allow normal data streaming. This method circumvents the WiFi Hotspot available to our phone and usually limits how much Hi Speed data is allowed per month. For some reason I can still stream You Tube Videos using this cable. I've not fully investigated why my streaming services don't work using (V-R-Z-N) data.

I bought two of these for two projectors for my kids this last Christmas. One of the cables worked great. The other was completely dead. It would charge the phone. The phone would ask to trust the device. But zero picture. Got a replacement and the replacement worked which is fine and all but it just goes to show their QA isn't all that great. I have very little faith in the longevity of these cables.For me, the cables worked on an iPhone 8 Plus. iPhone SE Gen 2. iPhone 13 Pro.

The media could not be loaded.  It’s great it does exactly what it said it would like to mirror whatever is on my phone but I wish my car had a HDMI input because then I’d love for my car to mirror my phone but it doesn’t but it works great with my TV.

This cable does not work. Do not buy.The app they want you to sign into is very sketchy and your phone goes from working, steaming video just fine, to instantly freezing up and not able to load once you connect the cable. Unplug the cable, and the video starts to play again.Nothing on the app works to adjust because all you get is a disconnected message with your phone constantly spinning to load the playback.
