Functional, easy to install, your husband will break it, buy two. Long story short, he didn't realize it was latched, we have a jack and Jill bathroom, he has ridiculous grip strength... Just do the second install method haha!!! You can see in my picture below of the last install.

I love the idea of this door buddy and how well it works. I have 3 strictly indoor cats and a dog -- which means multiple litterboxes containing enticing dog "treats." I bought 2 of these door buddies back in February and was very happy with how they work, giving the cats access to the rooms with with the litter boxes while keeping the dog out of those rooms. I'm only giving 2 stars for adhesion, because I just had to order a replacement, after 4 months stuck to my bedroom door, I found the strap hanging down -- the adhesive had pulled the paint off my door. Maybe this is really a problem with a vinyl door with latex paint. Perhaps the paint is just not well adhered to my door? I plan to sand the spot where I want the door buddy to stick to give the door little "tooth," then repaint that spot and let the paint dry super well before sticking the door buddy back on there... Over all 5 stars for this product but the adhesive is maybe a bit too aggressive?

I needed a lock that I could attach on the outside of doors to keep a child from entering and getting into things. This is perfect. It attached simply, and it deters access to rooms you want blocked off. Easy to install, great price, and not as frustrating as doorknob safety locks

Great for keeping my dogs out of the room my cat likes to chill in

So this works wonderful. Maybe too wonderful. My strong man husband tried opening the door while it was latched and it ripped the paint right off the wall 😂😂

We put this on the outside of a bedroom door, following all installation instructions. Didn't use it for about 48 hours, per instructions, to give it time to set after installation. Easy enough to install and use. However upon first use, our toddler yanked on the door to open it, and the plastic clip of the door buddy immediately flipped our of the clip. We realized that it also broke a little bit. Now it is basically not usable, as the plastic clip easily flips out of the holder if the door is jostled. Wouldn't recommend for keeping persistent toddlers out of a room.

This is the perfect option to allow your cat access to a room while blocking your toddler out! Installation is very easy by simply peeling the adhesive off of both ends and attaching to your wall and door. My very curious toddler cannot fit in, and my cat is able to access her litter box! Simple, but very effective.

My crafty dog loves to troll the closet and eat socks. Unfortunately my closet door has no latching system to close the door. I tried several remedies to no avail as she kept head butting the door open. A co-worker suggested researching child proofing devices. This little latch does the trick. Installed it in seconds and it does the trick. My 45 lb dog throws her body up against the door and the little hook and latch stand their ground. Nor more eaten socks! You can also install the latch in such a way as to leave a gap for a cat to come and go through the open space. Or you can install it as I did so that door is closed tight with no gap. Great product, I would buy it again.
