Jandy 4724 2-Port 1-1/2 to 2-inch Positive Seal NeverLube Valve

This was the final upgrade to my pool valves. Had already replaced three smaller ball valves with Jandy valves about 5 years ago and have had zero issues with them. Had to replace my multiport and decided to go ahead and upgrade the last large ball valve while I was at it. Installation was a breeze and this thing works even better than the others i originally replaced. I should have done this year's ago. Can't go wrong with original Jandy parts!

Before making this purchase, I found this type of valve from a discount pool store. The valve arrived without Jandy markings. Went back to the store and understood that I didn’t read the description carefully. It was a replacement for a Jandy valve! Thought that the replacement would work just as well. It doesn’t. Very tough to turn even though that it looks very similar and the internal components are very similar. I already had one OEM Jandy so I could easily compare. These valves are a genuine items and work very smoothly. Happy with the purchase.

The valve is high quality, and also can be rebuilt later - if required - without having to remove pipes. The only negative comment is the handle's orientation and the embossed "off" marking. Ball valves traditionally are "open" or "on" when the handle is in line with the pipes, but this one is off by 90 degrees. I can see the "off" label as a carryover from their 3-port valves, but it is very inappropriate on this valve. This is not awful but is an inconvenience as a quick glance at the valve may lead you to think it is in the wrong position. Lever orientation and marking aside, this is a great valve.

Easy to purchase, fast shipment and the valve works very well. Bought 3 of these as the local store (you know who) charges 2-3X these prices.

Quality of valve looks very good. Have not installed yet so performance review will have to follow later. Building valve assemble on bench with jig fixture for ease of installation. See picture.
