Nordic Pure 20x20x1 MERV 14 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filters, 20x20x1M14-6, 6 Pack

When you compare these furnace filters to the cost of other brands with similar features, these are by far cheaper with these figuring out to be around $15 each and I was tired of paying upwards of $20 for the allergen and pet dander filters that 3M has. While I don't know how well these work yet because we haven't been running the heat or the air since receiving them, but if I can go 3 months or more before having to replace them like I always had to with the 3M filters then these just gained that much more value. We will find out though since we just turned the air on today May 31st, so I will definitely be updating this review in the future.Now my first impression of these filters when I opened the box to install a filter was that these filters have some very good quality to them. They are more sturdy than other brands I have used including the high dollar 3M filters. I have never seen a filter that uses the cross support structure on both sides of the filters which should make these much easier to remove from the furnace when I need to replace them. Something else I noticed today that I'm not sure if it's because of these filters vs the 3M or the fact that our A/C unit fan motor was replaced, but compared to last year when we finally turned on the air our house has cooled off in about an hour the temp dropped from 86 down to 72. We purchased these in order to make a homemade air purifier using a box fan (you can find tutorials on google pretty easily). My husband was forced to return to the office to work during covid, so we wanted to ensure he had plenty of extra filtration for his space. We bought a lasko box fan, and attached one filter to each side of the fan. He runs it on medium to high throughout the workday. He says it definitely has helped with air quality in terms of his allergies and headaches, but who knows how well it's working to catch any viral particles. Merv-14 is rated to catch roughly 80% of virus particles, but there's no real way to know. We are hopeful, regardless.

I cant believe how much cheaper these are compared to brand name filters, and they are virtually indiscinguishible from any other high end filter I have used. I am very happy with these, and will continue to purchase them for my furnace. Thanks Nordic Pure.

This is my 2nd order of this product. The price has gone UP (due to inflation?) but they work well in my Furnace/Air Conditioner and do an excellent job. Shipping was very fast which is much appreciated. I just hope the price stabilizes because truthfully... there is a LIMIT to everything.

The box holding these filters had obviously been tampered with. The original tape holding the box closed had been crudely ripped open at the point where the closing tab was. The tab was also crudely ripped. There was no other damage to the box, meaning that the box had been deliberately ripped open. There was a second, brand new layer of tape which had been placed over the spot where the box had been ripped open. Given that there is nothing whatsoever on the generic-looking filters inside which identifies them as the MERV 14 filters which I paid a premium for, nor even anything identifying the brand, it's absolutely possible that I received some kind of inferior and cheap filters. I will NEVER buy a Nordic Pure product again.
