Good way to go for replacing a old fuel filter.. Easy to figure out what rings to use.. But depending on your actual location trust me replacing it can be a challengee, at least on my 01 mercruiser alpha 1 very tight spot and upside down from what I could see. But eventually got it in.. And believe me if you are having idle problems "especially which a cold engine" most likely your fuel filter is done! Mine looked like it was original and virtually plugged and brittle. (17 years and 700 hours) after replacing smooth start and idle even in cold weather

Perfect fit for larson 174 3 liter mercruiser if your lilter housing is on the bottom of your fuel pump. If your filter is on the top of the pump it takes a longer filter.

Works consistently, and is part of my annual maintenance. You wont have to use all three of the rubber rings when installing, and in my use case the filter holder is upside down and a bit of a pain in to install, but for a once a year replacement I'm happy that these brand filters hold up and just work. In my opinion its worth the extra couple bucks for the Quicksilver brand for sure.

Filter fit the fuel pump , quality is better than the OEM

My god, it's so hard to do in my engine, at first I didn't do it right, you must fill it up FULLY with gasoline when installing, otherwise with an air gap it will not prime at all. Took me 4 tries at least, but when I finally managed to not spill too much, worked perfectly from there on.
