Does it have working Linux drivers? I bought this and the linux driver is not compiling.

Looks like it's using a v4l backport. Your kernel is probably too new. I got it to compile doing this. Create a file called 'config-mycompat.h' in media_build/v4l directory that contains: #undef NEED_PRANDOM_U32_MAX #undef NEED_PRANDOM_U32 #undef NEED_NEXT_PSEUDO_RANDOM32 Then the make should work. A make distclean will wipe out this change, so you'll have to redo it. I don't think there's any dev work going on for this product, so it is what it is.

will it work with a chromebook

As long as your Chromebook has a standard USB input, it should work like any other Laptop.
