What are you waiting for
I haven't owned this for very long but I can tell you for sure that the first time you run that comb through your mustache or beard you can feel the difference. The Sawtooth shape of the comb conforms to all parts of your beard and mustache as you comb and it just Glides through the hair with no resistance because it's not grabbing hair and breaking or shaving off part of the hair shaft which will turn into split ends or breakage. This is the comb that I've been looking for for 40 years. Very Compact and fits in your pocket nicely so you can keep it with you at all times in case you need to touch up. Some people have mentioned how stiff it is to open and for sure when you first get it it's almost impossible to open up. I opened and closed it several times and it got better so I got the thinking. What if I put about a triple folded piece of notebook paper against the teeth as I close it and make sure that the paper stays flat. You could probably use one of those annoying pieces of mail that came to you unsolicited that are thicker , more like a postcard. Then I hit it with a blow dryer until it got warm through which was not very long. I did it again on the other side of the teeth and now it is firm enough to stay closed and still requires a fingernail against the end of the comb to pull it open, but it is MUCH easier to open now. I'm sure with use that it will wear in on its own but thought I'd give you a tip on the blow dryer. You don't have to heat it all that hot but you do want it very warm all the way through. We're not trying to melt plastic here we're just trying to get it soft enough to conform to the friction spots. I can't tell you how happy I am with this product. There are other brands and I did try to buy one initially but they couldn't seem to get it delivered to me. I just looked for another brand and this company has been around for a very long time so I decided to go with them even though their ratings weren't quite as high as my first choice. I couldn't be happier. I would buy again in a heartbeat if I needed one. I probably won't for a while because these are very well made.Update: I lost my comb so instantly ordered another. I'm just going to address the stiffness of opening again. This one was nearly impossible to open, just like the last one was when I got it. Like I said before all it took was a piece of folded over notebook paper. Actually I folded it double and then put it around the teeth so that it would close with the paper around the teeth into a fully closed position. I hit it with a little hot air from the blow dryer so that it felt pretty warm and then let it cool with the paper in there for a bit and just like the last time, it opens and closes easily but still stays closed.

perfect mustache comb, handmade, and reasonably priced
ok, this (87T tortoise-shell) one is just a "go ahead and get it" type thing: the price makes it risk free, and it's near perfect. i even use it for combing my beard sometimes, but for that misuse you need to cover the hinge with your thumb. it really is too small for the beard, but it's so small that i just carry it around. no catching, in any of the tines. i've even taken a look at it with a head magnifier to see if i can find some flaws. it has enough resistance to open, so that it stays closed in your pocket, but it's also easy to open. i see that some say difficult to open, but i now have two Kent folding combs and both are identical in high quality. the gold will NOT last btw. sooner or later the gold lettering will be gone, because it's just on the surface, rather than stamped in.

Nice little pocket combs!

Kent never disappoints
A little smaller than I expected but this little comb is perfect, works great for my hair and beard. I bought a Kent comb a few years ago and was really impressed, this little comb is no different, quality product.

Easy in the pocket deep through the stach
Perfect size easy to carry a little stiff to open also good for carrying but most importantly strong and deep enough for mustache and beard as brush or smaller comb doesn’t work very well

Not hard to please, I'm easily satisfied with the best
Isn't loose, combs my beard well with no pulling or snagging, the "White Tokyo" celluloid looks great, very classy. It is a little tight, but the very tip of the comb extends a tiny bit over the handle so just use your fingertip to open it. It literally can't fold completely "inside" the handle and if one can't open it when closed I really don't know what to say. In my picture you can see the tip of the comb that sticks out.If it becomes a little loose over time, pretty sure you could gently squeeze the rivet with a pair of pliers and it will be as tight as new again. Like my other Kent comb it is of outstanding quality. Size is fine for me, it's for grooming properly, not combing your entire Santa Claus beard in one stroke.Lightweight, feels good in the hand. It's just going to be tucked into my briefcase for travel, not sure how it would be in a back pocket, sitting on it. Might buy another with the "graphite" celluloid, which also looks great. Handmade in the UK rather than molded in China which I also like. Recommend.

Quality appears to have went down
Great little EDC folding comb. Small, sturdy and has been getting the job done for the last couple years. The tortoise is a nice touch as well. But I recently lost it and decided to replace it with a new one, and it just seemed off. It is very hard to open and close and the handle/sheath that the comb folds into seems very flimsy. 2 days after receiving it I did locate my 2 year old comb and did a comparison. The new one has a fatter comb and thinner handle than my old one, making it harder to open/close and harder to hold. Maybe this new one was just a fluke, but it will always only be a backup. Def not made for primetime.Pics show 2 year old comb on the left, new comb on the right

Very nice
I've had the Kent 85T for years and love it, but the teeth were wider spaced and thicker than the 87T, so it would take multiple passes through a single spot on my beard to comb through all of the hairs. This 87T does the trick and it still doesn't get caught on my thick and dense beard. At first it was a little tight to open after fully pressed closed, but still doable and was only a little inconvenient. Today, after a couple of days of opening and closing it, it now opens smoothly the the perfect amount of resistance. Some people say it's small, but for my short to medium length beard I think it's perfect, since it also allows it to be highly portable. (And it's nice that it folds to protect the teeth while traveling or carrying it in your pocket so they don't break off.) I highly recommend it.

Perfect small comb
Perfect small brush for the moustache or small goatee beard . High build quality . Excellent construction for smooth tidy grooming . Looks great ! A little stiff at first so wiggle it at the hinge before folding for the first time . Keep in the chest pocket to stay groomed at all times

THE mustache comb. This one.
This is the mustache comb you’ve been looking for. I bought two of them for $12 CAD and I feel good about it.There are absolutely knock-offs out there that aren’t worth the stamp it takes to ship them. These are not those. This is legit. Are they hand assembled and ground? Maybe. The combs on the two I have aren’t actually identical in profile. So maybe they ARE hand shaped. It doesn’t matter though, because this comb is great. The folding keeps pocket lint off of the teeth, which is important because often the comb has moustache wax on it after use. The rivet/hinge is tight, so it domes open up in my pocket. The size is perfect. Honestly, who needs four inches of teeth to comb a MUSTACHE? Guys are getting conned into buying beard combs for a mustache. If you don’t have a beard, don’t buy a beard comb. That being said, don’t buy this thinking you can groom your beard with it. Your eyebrows maybe, if you run more to the Eugene Levy look.
