Snap is kinda cheap, but otherwise great. Great for migraines, great for upper back tension
My husband and I race to get to this thing. I suffer from migraines, and we both have upper back strain from working at a desk all day (he's a programmer, I'm an illustrator), and sometimes cold relief is just what those muscles need! The build quality is not the best (the other reviews aren't joking about the super cheap snap, nor about the fact that this thing will choke you if you're trying to wear it while sitting up), but I find the soft fuzzy side more comfortable and love laying in bed with this on my back. I find that it stays cold enough long enough to be a relief (so about an hour or so for me, I tend to run kinda cold), and I like the softer gel beads. I used packs of ice and even those freezer packs that say not to put on the skin for years, and I prefer this for migraine and upper back relief. If multiple members of your family suffer migraines/back tension, and you have the freezer space, go ahead and buy two, that way you don't have to share.

I’m a fatty, so adjustments were needed.
I got this for dislocated shoulder pain. That model must be scrawny, because this ice pack didn’t come close to my shoulder. And it choked me around my fatty neck. HOWEVER it still gets 5 stars because the quality is there, with flexibility and comfort… so I took it off my neck and just wrapped it around my shoulder. It stayed in place. It was nice to lay on. Heads up: just like most ice packs it’s only cold for 20 minutes and still cool for 10-20 more, but such is life. It re-freezes in about 30 minutes also. So I switch it out with others as needed.Would I buy another? Nah. It’s probably best for those with neck pains. (And smaller necks).Would I return this one? Nope. It’s nice and does the job.Do I recommend it? If you just need an ice pack, I wouldn’t pay extra for this. Nearly any pack will do, honestly. But if you specifically have neck pains, or a surgery in this area, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one. Yes. Go for it.

Velcro closure instead of weak snap?
I would have given this 5 stars but the snap in the front is not strong enough to hold the weight, (which is the greatest in the back), and prevents it from resting against your neck and shoulders. As it sags to the back, the strap cuts into your neck. I think that an adjustable Velcro tape attached further in on the pads would hold it securely and provide adjustable pressure against the neck. With that exception, it is a great product. I love the fact that it stays colder longer, the material is great. I love the fact that it is built to wrap around your neck and covers the top of your shoulders and further down the back.As the product stays colder longer, it offers a greater degree of pain relief.I will add stick-on Velcro to the pads on mine so that it will then be a 5 star product.

Covers really well
I have chronic neck/shoulder/upper back issues. My chiropractor recommended cold packs. They can be awkward to place, but this pack covers the whole affected area. I highly recommend it.

Good for the Upper back, not for the neck.
The item is bulky in the back, meaning there’s a lot of gel in the back, which is good because this is what gives you the coldness. Because of this, the item is heavier in the back that it keeps pulling towards your back rather than staying in place. There is a need to hold the item for it stay in place, otherwise, you’ll end up getting choke. In my opinion, there is not enough gel in the shoulder/neck area where (at least for me) it’s needed the most – not enough gel, meaning not enough coldness on the shoulders/neck area. The area where it’s supposed to touch your upper back neck doesn’t touch your back neck, unless you hold it there. Additionally, for something that is heavier on the back, the front button is not strong enough to hold it. (I guess the pros on that is so that you don’t end up chocking yourself. The button will release when the item hangs heavily on your back side.) Lastly, I’m 140 lbs, this item feels a bit large. For me, to benefit on this item, I would be laying on back, hold the item in its place and it will be good for my upper back. That area for the upper back neck doesn't have enough gel for my neck to benefit.I was hoping this is something I can wear while I’m working in the office, but that is not the case - it keeps pulling back. It’s a great design and I will be on the lookout for an upgrade.

Works well
This was a gift for my daughter. She often has pain in her neck that radiates up to the bottom of her skull. She said it worked very well.

Comfortable and heat is long lasting
A very good cervical and shoulder heating pad. The snap secures it so it stays in place. Very pleased with this heating pad.

Doesnt properly fit.
I'm pretty dissapointed because if they had just used straps instead of a button, it would fit much better and more snugly. The button will choke you and the product will move backwards constantly. One of my biggest irks in product design is companies so intent on using a button instead of a strap. For one a strap is often a bit cheaper, lasts longer, and is easily fixable by simply cutting off the strap part and gluing on another strap or sewing it on. From a consumer and product designer point of view, buttons have never really been useful in most products unless its purely for cosmetic appeal. Like a button shirt. Straps most importantly are easily adjustable and in a world where everyone fits differently, thats a gold standard design choice to have on a product.I wont return this, I am going to fix it FOR THEM then as a spite to them I will show a picture of it being fixed with a proper strap on it instead of a button. What I plan to do is sew on a home made strap into the product to ensure its a comfortable fit, cutting off the button. After all, if you want something done right, do it yourself!

I wish it can be heated
Good to cover the neck and shoulder and back as an ice pack but too bad it can’t be used with heat…
