The Ultimate Kiss Fanzine Book Rocks!!!
My copy just came in the mail and quite impressed with the book after a just few run throughs...a hardback metallic looking cover, very sharp looking.... Loaded with a lot of on and off stage shots as well as image's of the fanzines from over the years. Lots of reading throughout. A message from Gene & Paul in the front and writing from Ken Sharp...I can't really say much else since I just got my copy but for the price it may be one of the best buys out there and a must for Kiss fans.......Rock N Roll All Night!!!*Update Oct 3-09, have been back through the book a few more times and didn't want to admit that I had some of my images from several Okla Concerts as well as a Kansas City Concert- all 70's but after reading some of the recent reviews I decided why not and perhaps some Oklahoma fans will decide to buy the book for that reason. I counted around 17 images used, many full page down to half page size and I was very happy with how they turned out which I hope is a selling point for the book because the quality is very nice considering the low cost and perhaps the quality you would expect from a higher price book. But I would like to thank Ken sharp and Gene for using some of my images...... and Paul as I'm sure he looked through images as well. But with that said I highly recommend the book to all Kiss fans, considering how much stuff cost these days ...the book and the new CD/DCD package may be one of the best bargains this year for the money if your a Kiss fan....old or new. and I hope some of my shots added a little to the book..... and even if I had no images in the book I would still recommend it.... it's loaded with some killer Kiss-History

Kiss fanzine book is AMAZING!
This is such a cool book for KISS fans to have...a look back at all of the fanzines and newsletters devoted to KISS from around the world, from the 70s until now. It was really neat to see how the guys in the band still really realize and believe that without fans like this, the band would be nothing. The fanzines in here all have features and pictures of the fans who labored over them, and they all got some nice space in there. those guys should be very psyched! also, this book has amazing live rare photos that one can only assume are from Gene's personal collection or some obscure photographers who were organized solely for this project. The photos alone are probably reason for any KISS fan to buy this item (note the fair price), but the whole theme of the fanzines and how unique it is to this band, is what makes this book really special. Nice job to everyone involved. Highly recommended purchase!

Another fine KISS publication
I've always been more of a fan of the printed material released by the band. I collect good reviews and the bad ones because it's always funny to read what a critic says about an artist...especially when the artist is still performing, and quite well, 30 years later. This would make me question the knowledge and integrity of the critic. It's all entertainment. This book is a tribute to the greatest fans in the world with the greatest tag line- the KISS Army. It highlights KISS publications put out by independent KISS fans long after the official fan club was disbanded around 1980.Ken Sharp and Mr. Simmons have done an excellent job of compiling and doing research. Many fans get to tell their favorite KISS stories as well, plus the vintage KISS pictures are great. Well done but the price is what amazed me- very reasonable so I bought a couple. Maybe now the incredible story behind the formation of the KISS Army will be made into a movie!

Great Photos & Stories from the members of the KISS ARMY
Ken Sharp has helped put together a book that really could have only been done by a fan, even with the strong backing of Gene and Paul. KISS has always had a unique fan-base and this book gives those fans who wanted to share their love of the band with others a chance to shine. Lots of old names from the past came forth in this tome (and, yep, I'm one of them as well), making it almost like a high-school reunion for those of us who are or had been involved in fandom. If you ever picked up a fanzine or did one yourself, you will want to get the book immediately. If you had never seen a fanzine, this will give you a great idea of what they were like. If you're a KISS fan, but unsure about a book on fanzines, get the book for the great photos of the band and the fans from over the years (not to mention Gene's discussion of his own fanzine period back in the 1960s). This is a book for all the fans - great production, great photos and great stories. Thanks to Ken Sharp for putting the pieces together and to Gene and Paul for deciding to give the fans something more than just another photo book. Wouldn't be surprised if the fans will be clamoring for "best of" collections of stories and artwork from these fanzines next!

A very nice book, worth the price, but many avoidable errors
It's kinda funny. The whole reason for a fanzine is when the band does not offer a similar high quality product. These many fanzines existed because people wanted great Kiss magazines when there were none. And here they are in an awesome book...that no one at Kiss cared enough to proofread! There are a few typos here and there by the fans, mostly grammatical errors. If someone inside Kiss was reading, they should have contacted the fan to point out the error. Or they could have easily corrected the error. But despite about 10 small errors, there was one (IMO) large error. One of the jewels in the crown of the fanzine is its longevity. Due to a typo, one of the earliest fanzines was miscategorized into one of the last pages. How does that happen??? Someone is reading and reading, then gets to one of the last pages to a fanzine that says it was one of the first?? Wouldn't someone reading say "Wait a minute. How can this 'earliest' fanzine be at the end of the book??" My guess is no one was proofreading. No one was editing.Despite this, it is a great book for a great price. One big star off for the errors.
