Great minimalist style trail racers, low stack and good traction!
These are great "minimalist" style trail racers, about halfway between the true minimal toesock shoes and really heavy, clunky trail shoes like Salomon. They have great traction in hardpack, dirt, leaves and mild to moderate sand. They don't have quite enough lug depth for deep or soft sugarsand, the XTalon 200s are better on super sandy trails. They have good (but not amazing) trail feel, and okay protection from roots and rocks. I'd compare these directly against the New Balance 10v4, both very similar shoes. The women's size is a bit too narrow for my wife's forefoot, so she wears the men's version. I wear Mizuno Sayonara 2s or 3s in size 9.5, and wear 9.5 in these. In the XTalon 200 or Terraclaw 250 I wear a 10, for the slight bit more big toe space on longer runs. The men's 9.5 weigh exactly 220g, the men's Terraclaw 250 9.5s are 240g and women's Terraclaw 220 size 9 are 206g. The XTalon 200s are *WAY* heavier than the spec, 244g for size 9.5 and 258g for size 10.

Great Shoe
Purchased these 4 days before my first Spartan Super race. I was worried about buying new shoes so close to a race, but I caved and purchased them. I wear a 9 1/2 - 10 women's and my running shoes are 11. These shoes came in and fit just as expected, enough room so when my feet swell they aren't smashed in the toe box. They are light weight, great traction, and the venting around the toes are great. the vents allow great air flow and when you run through water the shoes don't get weighed down, the water escapes quickly. One thing that i noticed during my run was the rocks that kept getting stuck around my ankles. I did have to stop once during the race to get rocks out of my shoe, but I guess that's what you get for trail running. Also, there isn't a lot of cushion in the sole. There were a few times that i could feel the rocks stabbing through. For the most part, I love them and am so glad that I purchased them. They cleaned pretty easily too! Since the race, I have used them to play in kickball tournaments and softball games.

These are a great pair of shoes
These are a great pair of shoes! I have a normal width foot & had lots of room in the toe box. Worked great on trails with lots of loose rocks & tree roots. My ankles usually hurt by the end of a run but not this time! I did 2.5mi & would have kept going but my pups were tired. Looking forward to my next run. Took 1 star off because they did hurt my feet running on pavement. I was hoping they would have been a little more versatile but I’m not overly disappointed since I don’t tend to run on pavement and trails on the same day. I just wanted to see how they would do.

Go half-size bigger
I really wanted to love these shoes because they fit comfortable for wide feet and they have amazing traction. However it ran too small, especially on the toes! I normally buy a size 5.5, sometimes 6 depending on the brand. I bought a size 6 to be safe. Tried them on, and they were a bit snug, but I didn't think it would've been too bad. I ran a spartan race, and my toes were crunched up the entire time. Big mistake!Buy AT LEAST a half size higher to get some wiggle room or for when your feet swell from an OCR.

Excellent traction for loose ground
Hiked a 14er in these after just a few weeks of walking in them to break them in. Excellent traction for loose ground. Very lightweight. But I would order 1/2 size up. I should have exchanged them. I used them even though they were a little tight. They weren’t bad, but coming down the mountain, the angle mixed with them being tight pushed on my second toe enough with every step that those toenails ended up turning black and blue and one even fell off. Ew. Not the shoe’s fault. They just run small.

The shoes feel great with a nice roomy toes box and snug
The shoes feel great with a nice roomy toes box and snug, comfy heel. But I cannot figure out sizing with Inov-8 shoes. I am a solid 9 in just about everything - every brand and style - and even in some Inov-8s - but the last two pairs of trail runners I have purchased from this company are significantly too small and I have had to return them. I was also expecting a slightly lower-profile sole. These have some serious grip on them - undoubtedly great for some circumstances, but not what I was looking for. Buy 1/2 size up.

Good fit, good grip, insole loose
It's a decent shoe. I like the fit and the bottom is nice for sliprock which there is a lot of in Utah. What I don't like is that the sole in the right shoe is loose and shifted when I was getting sand out... I got these May 1st (3 1/2 weeks ago). I wondered if it should do that, but the other shoe's sole is fixed in place. For such a high price I was a little disappointed and hope it doesn't slide while I'm wearing it.

mud and absolutely love the shoes and just ordered a second pair
The Terraclaw fitted my wide feet so I thought I give them a try even though I was wary about the crooked lacing and how light the shoe felt for the rough terrain running I wanted them for. I have just run over 200km of coastal trail, through rock, sand, mud and absolutely love the shoes and just ordered a second pair. They stick to the ground no matter the surface, drain water and dry in no time, well vented (not for winter) and hold my wide high arch feet perfectly with no restriction to my toes. They fit small and I'm wearing one size bigger then usual shoes. I went from having very low expectation on this shoe at first sight to having found my best trail shoe up to date.

Great for winter season, not so much summer...
Great for muddy trail running in the winter season. Great grip and super light. My only issue is that these are so light and stripped back that you really can't run them in the summer months on hard ground or long distance runs. They are best in muddy, wet and slippery conditions, and I have even run them on snow/ice with great results.

True love!
I am very much in love with these trail runners. They're light, flexible, comfortable, wide toe box, have plenty of grip and look great. My only criticism is they're slippy on rocks...but tell me a trail shoe that isn't. I'm going to buy more pairs to rotate!
