Another graphic novel in this fun series spin-off of The Baby-sitters Club, featuring Kristy's little stepsister! Karen has to get glasses! She doesn't want them, especially because school pictures are going to be taken soon. But she picks out some pretty pink ones and thinks she looks very grown-up. Then Yicky Ricky at school starts calling her names, like Owl Girl and Googly Eyes. If Karen wears her glasses for the school picture, Ricky will make fun of her. If she doesn't wear them, she'll feel like she's afraid to be herself. Glasses or no glasses, that Ricky is going to get it! Review: Good book - My 8 year old loves these books. I will continue to buy the series for her. Review: A great series! - Graphic novels, whatโs not to love?! This series is great for younger kids who are not yet ready for The Baby Sitterโs Club (content-wise). Great lessons learned in each story, offer lots of talking points between parent and child around real life things that kids are dealing with. So goodโฆ

Expressive illustrations really boost the story.
I read the original text chapter books of these series when I was younger, and it's really nice to see these updated in graphix form. My daughter is nearly 5 and loves these books. While Karen can be ceeky and naughty sometimes she is very realistic, and here being nervous about getting glasses is something a lot of kids could relate to, as well as having to deal with name-calling. Katy Farina does a great job illustrating the story, making Karen so expressive and really makes for cute story.

glasses rule!
It was good to see the issue of glasses, bullying and discrimination shown. The difficulty of wearing glasses young is the name calling. It is a shame that the teacher did nothing to work it out but I was glad to see her become more comfortable with them as time went on.

Great Book
Bought for my daughter and she loved it. It's a great series to grow up on, dealing with real life topics and still fun and appropriate for her age.
