McCormick Old Bay Seasoning, Blend of Zesty Savoury Herbs & Spices, Perfect for Meat, Poultry & Seafood, 280g Jar

Great seasoning, great taste.

I remember my mum using this when I was a child, then it suddenly disappeared it's only in the last few years that I've seen it again. I'm a YouTube Cooking Channel fan this seasoning is a big hit, especially in America. I wanted to try it again because I couldn't remember the taste, it's not cheap but I found it in Lidl's and Tesco 75g £3.00. It's meant to have a Perfect 👌 marriage with seafood 🐙 🦑 🦀🦐🦞🐟 and Chicken 🐔 🍗 I sprinkled it but generously on chicken wings and roasted them, they came out deliciously juicy with a hint of warmth maybe from the paprika or the mustard definitely a winning Recipe. I like that it has no Artificial flavourings, colours, MSG, suitable for vegans no preservatives, has your usual herbs bay leaves, thyme, basil, rosemary. Spices, celery seeds, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves, coriander and allspice which is Jamaica pimento pepper. I like this Seasoning, I decided to buy the larger size because it's not always available in my supermarket, expiry date April 2025. It's very versatile nice on vegetables, especially potatoes 🥔 🍠 I've watched recipes where it's sprinkled on popcorn 🍿 and even old bay ice cream 🍦 It's recommended because it can be used in so many different recipes, so you'll always get your money's worth. My friend likes to cook snapper fish on the barbecue using old bay as the main seasonings.

Better than the small metal tins with the awkward lid. taste and smell good and not spicy. good amount for the price.

We purchased this product as our go to chicken seasoning was not available and we are pleased that we did. We have found that this seasoning is very versatile and it can be used on a multitude of items as it complements and lifts many meats etc. I have to say that I found this seasoning a tad mild when compared to are old version but we soon got used to this product and in some ways bing more mild has made it more versatile. One of my favourites is rubbing it into the fat on a joint of pork as it makes the most gorgeous, tasty, crackling.

The best seasoning ever, Great in stir-frys.

I decided to buy this after watching a YouTuber who was reviewing and airfryer and its didnt disappoint! I bought 6 pieces of chicken [skin on] and 6 chicken drumsticks. I had a bowl of plain flour, another bowl with 2 eggs, and a 3rd bowl with plain flour and 3 table spoons of this in the 3rd bowl mixed in with the 3rd bowl of flour. Dipped the chicken in 1st bowl of just plain flour, then the eggs and finally the 3rd bowl of plain flour mixed with this spice. Put the chicken in the air fryer, 195c for 30 minutes [turned over at 15 minutes] and after the 30 minutes, used a temp check rod, chicken in the middle needs to be over 80c and its cooked. Took it out and put on plate, then dug in, gotta say this spice was delicious!!! Really really nice, and will do same recipe again next weekend! Also the bottle is quite big, I was expecting a small spice bottle but its actually quite big and will make plenty of meals! Havent tried on fish yet, but will probably use it all on mychicken recipe!! Will buy again once use [should last ages though] 5* !!!

Old bay is one of the best spice to flavour your meat and at a good price compared to a lot of spices . I love it on chicken . I use to buy the small tin but finding a problem with them Of late in all the old bay the lid is sealed so you can Not open it . I’ve found they have a new pot with s plastic lid more expensive than the jar and less spice for your money . Heat level Is good not to Hot
