A great ratched for those already invested in Makita batteries
Bought this as a gift because the one I've owned for 3 years is one of my favorite tools. The trigger provides nice variability of RPM and the head is thin enough to get into some pretty funky places. This has saved me so much time over the years working on engines, assembling furniture, zipping bolts off solar batteries, installing threaded inserts into walls, etc. I wish it had a reversible 3/8 and 1/4 drive because the spare drive head is easy to misplace but I've also never even bothered switching to the 1/4 drive so its not worth taking a point off. Like all Makita tools it is really high quality in the materials and assembly.

Works great after loosened
This will work great to install and remove after you get the nut initially broke free. It will also work as a manual wrench with the motor off which is what you have to do when the bolt torque is over 20-30 ft-lbs. If you need to break a nut loose then use a an impact wrench, not this. If you need to tightened the nut at the end, use a torque wrench, not this. It only speeds up the install and remove steps for loose nuts. It was great in a tight access location where the ratchet was only making one or two clicks per cycle and was taking forever, but this did the job quickly.

It a Makita, I have never had a problem with this brand over many years.
I have had an impact driver (Mikita) for years and loved the light weight, long battery life and fast, fast charging rate. This ratchet is now added to my Mikita collection, lawn care, general purpose and now auto care. to pull the trigger in awkward position is just what I needed.

Nice tool, works well
I bought this recently and the first job I did was a timing belt in an RX300. The tool helped make the job go a lot faster. The drive will not break fasteners free by itself but you can manually break them using the tool then use the drive to fully remove them quickly. I used the power drive to install the fasteners quickly, then switched to a torque wrench to finish them off. Over all saves a lot of time and wrenching. Only thing I don't like is the directional switch on the head. It feels flimsy, and a paddle switch that would allow you to select forward/reverse might have been nicer. Overall I'd recommend the tool. especially if you have other Makita 18v tools

Very useful tool for those who wrench often
I haven't used a powered ratchet in a very long time, resorting to just using regular hand ratchets. Having to disassemble a bunch of small bolts on an engine rebuild project made me decide to pick a powered ratchet up. Having Makita power tools made this purchase a no-brainer. The tool isn't especially powerful but then powered ratchets aren't meant to be. They are mean to be fast and versatile. I've found using the ratchet to crack a bolt loose by using it like a conventional hand ratchet, and then using the power feature to spin the bolts out made very quick work of pulling the timing chain cover on a Nissan engine. Likewise, the low torque output means you probably won't damage anything by using it to run bolts back in as well. Makita tools are typically expensive, but I'd rate this one an excellent buy!

Battery type
I was surprised to receive this item without the battery or charger! Can you please advise the battery code so I can order it and at least use this item?

Quite powerful well built
My son uses it in the garage he works at and has high praise for it. Lots of power and can be used as a ratchet if it's very tight to get it going. Highly recommend.

Poor quality and Worse customer service
Very poor quality and worse customer service. Unfortunately the product broke after a couple of uses, even though it was not fit for purpose we asked for a simple repair or a screw so we could repair ourselves but only after several prompts were advised the manufacturer would contact us from China!! Obviously this hasn't happened and the seller refuses to accept their responsibilities and continues to ignore.
