So far this is my favorite to protect my skin from further sun damage. It seems cooler than the other non-silk one that I had been using, The only reason for not rating 5 stars is the silk is more slippery and therefore easier to move out of perfect sun protection position, especially on the sides of my face, Suppose I can't have both a cool Balaclava and one that stays in place for my entire bike ride. Not a big problem. I just have to adjust it more often than my old non-silk one.

Update: I used this all day Spring skiing. Super lightweight, super breathable. Only thing: the white color looks like underwear!- Super soft- Breathable- Enough opaqueness to protect from the sun- Feels like silk- Lightweight I love this thing. I might just get another. Yes.

This is being used to under my costume helmet so it needed to be able to breath and be comfortable. It met both of those, nicely!It is very soft, silky even, and stretches to fit too. Very breathable, even when sweating in it. Nice product, and shipped quickly too!

I bought the white version of this balaclava for use while exercising at the gym. The top kept sliding off my head which then dragged the nose and mouth piece down. When it was staying up with the use of strategically placed safety pins, the material was not porous enough to breathe through. It felt like I had bathing suit material over my face. Not good for running, inside or outside.
