Ion Color Brilliance Brights Semi-Permanent Hair Color Purple

I didn't purchase on amazon, but at a beauty supply place. First, you have to lift your existing color, it will not color on dark hair. After finding this out I bleached my daughter's hair and reapplied, it was a beautiful purple when the color was in, but once the dye was rinsed out if was pink and orange, there was no purple!

Please don't buy this product it's totally fake. It gave my daughter sunkissed hair and no where purple or its closest shade... highly disappointing

I adore the Ion Brilliance Brights Purple! It is really a vibrant color and a fantastic deep shade of purple. Sometimes I use it alone but most times I mix it with Punky Semi-Permanent Colour Cream Plum 3.5 Oz. . The mix of the two give me an awesome, deep purple. Plus, when mixing the two, it give my/your hair much more color depth as some strands of hair will pick up more of one dye than the other. I've actually had people, more than just a few, honestly ask me if my purple hair is natural. Seriously. I always say yes and they always believe me. Gotta love humans. =] Both Ion Purple and Punky Plum last longer than any other purple dyes from other brands I've tried - and I've tried a lot of purple dyes over the years. Although Ion and Punky dyes seem to bleed a bit longer than some of the other brands, I think it's because they also last longer than the other brands. If you want a good quality, lovely purple, Ion Brilliance Brights Purple is a great choice. To help your color last as long as possible: - wash/rinse your hair in cool/cold water [just like protecting your colors in your laundry] - use quality color-protect shampoo/conditioner such as Paul Mitchell Color Protect Shampoo/Conditioner - don't wet wash your hair too often and use a dry/spray shampoo in between wet washes - stay away from any products with Tea Tree Oil as they will strip your color

I bought Ion because I wanted to add a Purple sheen to my hair. I have medium-dark brown hair with blonde ends from when I had blonde ombré last year. I put the purple on my hair and it created a really cool look. The purple on my natural hair was very dark but in the sunlight it shined a violet purple. Because my ends were light, it created a dark to somewhat light purple ombré which I loved. The quality is amazing. The smell is a bit strong but it doesn't stain your skin or scalp AT ALL. I've washed my hair twice already with sulfate-free color protection shampoo from Tresseme and the color is still strong, even on my natural hair. I have hair down to about right below my breast, so about 15inches when straightened. My hair is very thick as well, so it took 3 and a half tubes of hair color to cover my entire head thoroughly. It also took my friend and I about an hour to do, and I let it sit for 2 more hours to make sure the color really held.

I purchased this hair color twice. The first time I used it following the directions exactly, all of the hair color rinsed out. After leaving it in for the maximum amount of time, under a hair heater/dryer. The second time I kept it in for 3 times longer than the recommended time under a hair dryer. It still all rinsed out. I wouldn't recommend it, even with all the extra items they have to make sure your hair colors properly. None of it works, a waste of money.

Easy to use, holds up for 3-4 washes. I prefer purple shades closer to blue; this was more reddish.
