This the the BEST popcorn popper out there, I'm sure. I love it! It's so easy to use and it pops virtually every kernel. It takes a couple of batches to figure out exactly how much popcorn to put in but once you do you'll never pop another way. No oil needed and easy clean-up too! Makes healthy and delicious popcorn. I am not a fan of the bagged microwave popcorn from the grocery stores and getting out a pan and popping my own felt like a chore. A friend suggested I try this popper. I love it but my husband loves it more. About three days a week he makes a batch while watching sports. You simple measure about 1/3 of a cup of kernels, pour them in and pop about 3 or 4 minutes (we just listen to the popping to stop). I find it’s even better than using a pot because the steam escapes and doesn’t make the popcorn tough. I will own one of these forever!!

Don't accidentally burn any popcorn in here. It has a horrible smell left behind and stain that you cannot wash out no matter what. I have to throw mine out and get a new one. My kitchen power went out because my son forgot to turn the window AC off before starting microwave. So it blew the circuit. My son didn't know how much cook time was left so he put it on for a minute he aaid. Because of that my son cooked popcorn for 30 sec-1 minute too long and the whole popcorn was burned. Knowing my luck, the popcorn was probably finished before he added time even if the power blew. 😒 Anyway the badly burned and smoking popcorn made a large black circle in the bottom. Soaked with Dawn soap and vinegar for almost 2 days. Tried baking soda, SoS pads..nothing would get the burned black mark out. The lid turned brown too. Smelled so bad like someone did number 2 in the lid. The bowl still had a burned popcorn smell. No melted spots, just stained black and smelled bad. I don't want future popcorn to be cooked in here and end up tasting like this smells like. Gross. The reason for one star less is the instructions say you can fill popcorn to 1st or 2nd line in the bottom of bowl. Our first time we filled to 2nd line and not over it. It overflowed popcorn all inside my microwave. I could have filled the bowl almost half way with what fell out. Their video says cook 3 minutes, wrong. I have a 1000 watt microwave and it takes 2 minutes 10 seconds. That's why the less 1 star, bad instructions on paper and their video. So IMO: Fill popcorn seeds between the 1st line and 2nd line 1/2 way is a better amount to have a full bowl without overflow. Listen for popping to slow down to almost not popping anything anymore then stop it. Each microwave, electrical service, elevation level and age of popcorn seeds will make cooking times vary. I'll say it right away. The Presto microwave popper system does the best job of popping popcorn in a microwave. No debate, I just threw out a 25 year old one. But it scores very low for storage, for cleaning ease, and having to keep buying supplies for it (the cardboard heat concentrators). I also used a Nordic Ware popper, and I am hanging on to that one as a backup. It scores higher for cleaning and storage, but it is unforgiving to use and will burn popcorn quickly if you are too late to stop. Popco, and really all the other identical brands of this silicone bowl have a good product here. It is easy to clean by hand and in a dishwasher. It stores smaller than it is. Take some time to experiment with how long to cook. My microwave's built in popcorn mode goes for 1:45 and will start to scorch a bag of Pop Secret if I don't stop it at least 10 seconds early. It would perfectly pop in the Presto popper for that time with fewer unpopped kernals. Two minutes required for the Nordic Ware bowl (using oil), but scorching black popcorn awaits at 2:15. This bowl with popcorn filled a little below the higher line and oil added to just below the top of the corn (I don't get too scientific here) will have to be stopped about 2:15 to 2:20, it starts tasting burnt at 2:30 to 2:35. No Idea of performance popping dry, I don't understand why you would pop dry in microwave when a hot air popper will work about a fast and give a perfect pop every time (and they do, but I have to add 1/4 stick of butter to eat it). Another bonus is the silicone muffles the popping sound a lot. Using regular vegetable oil during popping, I get some flavor just adding some seasoned popcorn salt and eat straight from the bowl. No extra butter this way. It flexes and conforms to the spaces in my dishwasher easily. Considering price, the Nordic Ware bowl loses, plus it retains enough heat in the bottom to burn your lap through your clothes. The silicone Popco will retain heat, but not nearly as long as Nordic Ware, and can be placed on a lap given 8 minutes or so. The Presto design has no real heat in the bottom so it sits right on the lap, but it has less popcorn capacity, requires those heat concentrators that really only last about 2-3 times with oil in use (performance degrading each re-use). So for real world all-around considerations, the silicone popper (really any of them) is the winner in my mind. Don't be inflexible with your recipe, your popcorn and your individual microwave will determine the pop time mostly. Spend some time to work it out. Better yet. just don't walk away while cooking. Listen to the pops and stop the cooking when the rate of pops is down to about 1 per second. You will scorch the popcorn if you push the envelope to try to pop it all.
