Solid make, simple device.I expected it to work straightforwardly, but after opening the box, the instructions simply directed me to an online site for a PDF.Okay, no problem, let's check it out.1. Plug the dock into the PS4.2. Put the dongle on the back of the controller.3. Put the controller in the dock.4. Solid Red light means charging, solid blue means done.Okay, so why is the light blinking? The online PDF doesn't address this, so I swith ports and dongles on two controllers. Still blinking. Change ports; light turns blue. So its ....charged? Turn the controller on; nope, one bar of battery.Confusing product. My purchased dock sometimes charges, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes blinks red for hours, and doesn't charge. Sometimes blinks red for a moment, then turns blue. Sometimes charges two controllers, sometimes one, sometimes the front, the forward, sometimes both, sometimes it changes which ones is charging when putting two controllers on it.I'm amazed something so simple can be so confusing.

Doesn't last.
I've barely had this product for two months, and unfortunately it has stopped working (and the returns window has closed). It was working fine, but now when I place my controllers on the charger, the blue light flashes red three times, then goes straight back to blue (and does not charge the controller). Even when I press down to try and ensure that the charging points are connected, I get this issue. Sometimes, it seems to sit so that the light flickers between red and blue and seems to really slowly charge. This is happening with both charge points, and on all four of my controllers (2 of which are brand new).

Better than the Official Sony charge stand, but could be improved.
The official Sony charge stand is fiddly to use and prone to being broken by young gamers. After replacing one where the connectors broke and seeing my son struggle with the replacement, I decided to look for something better. This charge stand is inexpensive and, while not perfect, has a number of improvements over the Sony product.Pros:+ Controllers pretty much fall into place and begin charging - much easier than the Sony product.+ Uses USB charging (i.e. from PS4 console), so does not take up precious mains sockets!+ Much much cheaper than the official Sony product.Cons:- USB lead is hardwired in, so cannot be swapped out for a longer/shorter lead if needed. I had to purchase a separate USB extender.- Only comes with two charge adaptors... if you have more than 2 controllers, you end up having to swap them round.- Charge adaptors are rather ugly- Obnoxiously bright blue lights on the front are constantly on; a dim, single red LED would be so much more civilised (and stylish). The charge adaptors don't get in the way while holding the controller, so I can live with their aesthetic shortcomings. I do wish this product came with 4 charge adaptors, or even that the charge adaptors could be purchased separately. Also... bright blue lights are completely passé - even early 20 somethings have stopped putting them on their souped-up hatchbacks. Please consider replacing with something more subtle as an indicator that the device is receiving power. And there's no good reason why the USB lead has to be hardwired into the unit. This just creates an unnecessary point-of-failure, and an inconvenience to anyone who wants the device more than 12 inches from a USB socket.Overall, considering the price (and the easy availability of black electrical tape), I would recommend this product over the official Sony one, for charging your PS4 joypads.

Dreadful, like most venom products
My official Sony playstation charger broke, so I thought I'd look for an alternative. This product has good reviews - but God knows why, its terrible.-Instructions are non-existent, you have to look online and even then they aren't clear.-It takes ages to charge, something stupid like 3h?!-You need to keep the little dongle in the controller to charge it, which is a pain as a) its easily lost if you take it out the controller when not charging b) it's ugly if you keep it in the controller-Every now and then the controller will just stop charging and all the lights go off. I thought it might be me not having it set up right, but I've fiddled with it, and got others to, and same thing keeps happening. It means my controllers are often 50% or less charged despite being left on for a number of hours.Honestly, just spend the extra and get the official Sony one. It's not perfect, and mine did break after a few years of use, but its a hell of a lot easier to use and much more effective.

*** UPDATE *** my advice is DON'T ..
**** UPDATE ****Changed from 5 stars to 1 as it has BROKE I read similar on here . You plug them in they slowly flash yellow... then stop. The light on front does a dance...then stops. Hours of electro city yet NO charge... an old android phone charger DKES charge them mind so I know it's not the controllers.I can't find Venoms contact info to moan about it so i am £12 down with some stylish if rubbiah plastic kit and no way of a refund/ replacement. Those with 4/5 stars are either new kit, lucky or lying !!My advice is DON'T

Great if you don’t need it to last long.
So I’ve had it about a year and a half but Over the last 2 months it charges intermittently, you can even see the light flashing red and blue meaning it’s connecting and disconnecting constantly, this means that even after leaving the control charge overnight it’s only half charged 12 hours later. Just disappointed to have it go faulty since it sits in the same place just it’s not an item that gets bumped about that you would expect to go faulty. It’s great if you don’t mind replacing it after a year or so. Also it’s not a controller issue as I have my original control that’s 3 years old and a new controller that’s 2 months old and it happens with both.
