Heat is retaining but not like a normal flask.the lid has a plastic smell and food also getting that smell when kept inside which may fade with usage.The paint enamel of flask has gone a little bit .

Brilliant if u want to keep food warm when u out and about with your child and want to give them your home made food . Or when you travel . Good flask keeps food warm . I never tested for how long but was long enough for me few hours for sure . Good size . Lovely design .
