Great dupe
My husbands key broke of his original key holder. He bought this one as a replacement. Works great and looks great. He was able to take off the VW logo from his original and carefully super glued it to this dupe. One issue he shared was that the original key has a pin to connect the actual key and the βhandleβ but the dupe is tighter so he can use the pin to βsecureβ it. However, he does not foresee it breaking or coming off. At least not any time soon. He didnβt have an issue of the door unlocking when putting the key in his pockets right away therefore he has to walk away from the car and then put it in his pocket so it doesnβt detect the car and unlock. (Only sometimes)

Saved me $1200+
I had some car trouble and took it to a mechanic who in the end, screwed me out of hundreds of dollars along with breaking the only key to my car. Went to the dealership to get help with my initial car issues as well as a replacement key. With the parts I needed, it would have been well over $1200. After some research and some reassurance from my boyfriend we went this route. Bought this blank key, got it cut, and we were able to put the chip into the new key. Worked like a charm. I am so greatful.

Saved me $420!!!
I needed to replace the bade and the fob for my 2014 VW Jetta because the metal holding the blade broke. I received the order the second day with Prime, it was well packaged in a small pouch inside a box with a 2nd order. It included the VW logo sticker inside the new fob, a new pin and a new uncut blade. Great quality, looks and feels just like the old one.Installing was easy, got it open and swapped the chip with the bad old fob. The toughest part was taking out the pin that holds the blade, you have to hit hard until itβs out but other than that it worked perfectly and Iβm happy I saved $420, because the quote from the local key place to replace the whole key was $430. ππ

Saved $500 - $600 the cost of a new key.
After your key breaks from the key fob. You can go online and find instructional videos on how to move your broken key and board to this Keyfob. The only thing that the online videos do not tell you is you might need to do just a tad of grinding to make the key fit on the new fob. But with a bit of ingenuity and about 30 - 40 dollars in parts it can be done and thanks for nothing dealerships.

Almost no use.
1. The panic button is not functioning properly. After fushing it will not come back to the its position.2. There is no way to change the original key blade to this fob for they are not of the same size.

Good quality shell
My daughter's fob fell apart and I was able to fit it with this. I took out the circuit board and it was an easy swap. The key, however, was much more difficult. The parts on this shell and the OEM shell to not line up so you can't swap the key over. What did work for me was removing the key blade by pressing out the retaining pin then swapping it with the blade in this shell. It looks great and I even swapped over the VW logo so it really looks like a new OEM key fob now.

Not perfect for OEM key
If you want to swap OEM parts into this it takes a little work. As others have stated, OEM key shank does not easily fit, it HAD to be filed to fit into the fob, and to get the roll-pin in to hold it (not ideal for everyone to do). Buttons are hard plastic and seem cheaper. My OEM computer chip did fit into the new fob, and with some filing on the key shank everything now works.

Worked perfectly with a little effort for 2016 VW Jetta
Ultimately worked perfectly for my 2016 VW Jetta key. In my case, the metal hinge housing on my original key cracked apart! The actual cut key is a separate flat piece of metal. Opening up the old key and this one and transferring the chip/board was a breeze. Really a super easy snap. Removing the blank uncut metal key slat from the new one and fitting my already cut old key slat was a bit of a bear. In my photo, you can see that the cut key slat itself is held into place by a small metal pin. I had such a hard time pushing that pin out, I was sure I was going to break the entire thing. I tried little watch band pin pushers but those were toast right away. After trying progressively more aggressive hammers and pushing tools, I ended up using a very small jewelers Philips screwdriver and a full sized hammer. I hit it pretty darn hard, and finally the pin came out! Whew, the hard part was done.. but not the only hard part. Turns out that the shank on the factory key slat is slightly longer than this one. I used a dremel to file down the original key shank. Also, the original key shank shoulders were a little bit rounded, but this one was more squared off. Dremel again. Once I got it to fit well enough, then tapping the pin in was the last bit. The end result is flawless. But, it was a little unnerving getting that pin out and fitting the original key into the slot after. Now, I couldn't be happier. I also peeled the VW logo sticker off my old one and a dab of crazy glue seated it on this new one for the finishing touch. If you own a dremel and are trying to transfer your original cut key into the new fob then it can be done. Just be patient and do a little bit at a time, then recheck if it fits, then do more as needed.
