Works great. Solid built equipment. Stepped my storage game up.
I was using a push down sealer to vacuum seal bulk meat purchases. Juices were always a problem with continuous cleanup. I got a freeze dryer to start making MREs for camping and emergency preparedness. They use Mylar bags which a bar vacuum sealer won’t work with. I don’t have to vacuum seal freeze dried food but it helps with space. This has worked perfectly removing the air and sealing the Mylar bags. I’ve also used it to seal regular vacuum seal bags I used on my push down sealer for bulk meat purchases. No more juice messes! I could seal bags of broth and soup and freeze them with no mess! Depth was a deciding factor for me overall and this unit had more depth than other models and I’m glad I got a deep model. During the process some bags and pouches will actually expand like a balloon and I’ve had larger items push against the glass lid and visibly stress their seems continuing to expand where there’s no resistance. Actually had a pouch burst, thankfully it was just dry noodles so no mess. Transferred to another bag, pressed the air out better before starting and that solved that problem. This has a pretty large capacity. I’ve done some 1/2 pint bags with freeze dried fruits and I’ve done gallon size Mylar bags with noodles (pictured) and rice and sugar and such. Gallon is the largest you can go. I included pictures of the gallon bag of noodles to show relative size and depth. The unit is very solid and robust. It has a strong thick metal body, thick glass door and it’s decently balanced when picking up so it doesn’t feel like it wants to tip any certain direction when I pick it up to put it away. Speaking of picking it up. It’s quite heavy but manageable. However, I soon found a permanent location because it was heavy and I didn’t want to risk eventually dropping it. It’s a bit large so not something you may want on your kitchen counter long term. My only real gripe and I believe it’s just me being impatient and this is just the nature of owning and operating a vacuum chamber sealer is, it can take awhile to seal some things. There’s three presets for sizes. S for stuff around 1/2 pint bag, M for quart sizes, and L for gallon. The preset times are 30s, 45s, and 55s respectively for these sizes. That can take awhile to seal a bunch of bags. I’m standing there waiting for around a minute per item. I can go do something else though and then switch the next bag. You can set your own times but that’s content specific I’ve found. I can do a 10-20 second vacuum on freeze dried foods because it doesn’t have to be absolutely air free, but it still draws it down pretty tightly. I also don’t want it too tight because some dried foods have hard edges. But sealing meats like chicken breasts in 2-3s, hot dogs, steaks, they need it to run fairly long to really get that air out. Otherwise you’re left with a couple small air pockets still. With the push down vacuum sealer you can massage the air bubbles out while it’s still drawing air out, not when it’s in the chamber. I like to pre-make and freeze mini smash burgers; basically meatballs. Those will not draw the air fully from between them like the push down can. But everything else it excels at when vacuum sealing. Having this able to do liquids, I’ve started making sweet tea in bulk and sealing them in quart Mylar bags. One bag makes a whole gallon. Just grab it, dump it in a pitcher, fill the rest of the way with water and stir. Perfect like I just made it, but I made 12-20 so I have that mane weeks already done I can just grab and make up real quick. Just something I can do now since I have this instead of making a pot every week. It’s a bit pricy compared to push sealers but it’s a game changer for resealing bulk purchases. Oh, I also just got a smoker so I can use this to marinade meats deeply, and I bought a sous vide capable ninja since this does liquids. Opening new doors all kinds of ways in my kitchen game.

Does the job well with minimal effort
I’ve been shopping for chamber vacuum sealers for about a year now. Many of the models I found look like they are industrial, way too big, or international shipping would cost nearly as much as the appliance itself. This one caught my eye because it looked presentable enough to keep in the kitchen, was large enough that it would take the biggest vacuum sealer bags I need, and was small enough that it didn’t require me to get rid of any of my existing appliances. The price was reasonable, so I decided to buy it despite not having any reviews. It arrived triple-boxed, with thoughtful placement of packing paper. I read through the entire instruction booklet right away. There were several grammatical errors, but I understood what the manufacturer was saying. I installed the sealing bar (in which you simply push it into place), connected the power cable, and it was ready to go. My first attempt failed to seal. I realized that with the lid open, you can press the sealing button and adjust the sealing time up or down. I increased it to 4. My second attempt failed with the error E01 on the LCD, and I believe this happens when you don’t gently press the top down for a second or two when it first starts sealing. This was my fault. My third attempt partially sealed, and I knew from my first attempt that I needed to increase the sealing time slightly, so I changed it to 4.5. The setting you need may vary depending on the vacuum sealer bags you use, but 4.5 worked for me. I made some soft ice packs with water and isopropyl alcohol, something I wasn’t able to do very easily with the vacuum sealer I bought more than 10 years ago. It’s almost grilling season, and these are nice to keep food at safe temperatures when it’s hot out. The machine beeps twice each time you use it, and I’d prefer the beeping to be a little quieter. The vacuum pump is a little loud (as expected), so I won’t be using this late at night, but I’m happy with my purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who has a need to vacuum seal marinated foods, liquids like stews and soups, or other items that wouldn’t seal easily with an inexpensive consumer-grade sealer.

Bags that it ships with don’t evacuate. Don’t waste your time.
The smooth surface of the bags shipped with the unit form a vacuum tight seal foiling the evacuation process. I spent hours trying to deal with this. Using the chamber instead of external vacuum mode helps but the problem is still there. Bags ordered separately are textured and work well. Don’t waste your time with the bags that come with the unit if they are un-textured. There is no OFF button! (Seriously?) You have to unplug the unit which will certainly wear out the connector over time. With the proper bags, I like the chamber vs external vacuum mode which is much faster.

Here’s how to seal from the outside
This is my first chamber sealer. I like it for all the same reasons everyone else does. I almost didn’t get this one, because I read that you can’t seal bags from the outside. If you have something too large for the chamber, like a large roast or a whole rack of ribs, you need to be able to vacuum seal it from outside the chamber. If I couldn’t do that, I’d still give this five stars, because this is a really great vacuum sealer. I made a video to show how to vacuum seal from the outside. It’s my first video review, and not very good, but I think it does okay at showing how to do this. I failed to mention you have to use textured bags for this, like FoodSaver bags. The smooth bags you use for chamber vacuum sealing won’t work for outside vacuum sealing. My first attempt at outside sealing failed, because I simply inserted the open end of the bag into the chamber and closed the lid. The machine vacuumed, but it didn’t vacuum the air out of the bag. You have to set it up the same way you would for chamber sealing, with one side of the bag opening under the clips, the other side over the clips, and the bag over the sealing bar, then turned back, so it hangs outside the chamber. Close the lid, and it will vacuum the air out of the bag then seal it. Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean. It’s easier than it sounds. - - - The CV12 is very easy to use. It has three presets for small, medium and large bags, or you can use your own custom settings. You can set the vacuum time from 5 to 80 seconds in one second intervals. You can set the seal time from 0 to 9 seconds in half second intervals. The chamber is smooth and easy to clean. The chamber is larger than I expected. The bottom center is flat for about 6 ½ inches in diameter, then gradually tapers upward as it approaches the sides, but it still leaves plenty of space inside the chamber. You can use the textured bags if you have them, but you can also use the less expensive smooth bags. They’ve improved the design, so it now comes with a port and hose for attachments. The hose plugs into the port inside the chamber. You use one side of the attachment end of the hose for zipper bag valves. Turn it around and use it for canisters. (See photos) I’m able to use all the accessories I used with my FoodSaver. One of my favorite things to do with a vacuum sealer is to reseal jars of partially used products, like pickles, jelly, yeast, etc. If the jar is small enough to fit upright in the chamber, you can reseal it inside the chamber. Set the seal for 0 seconds, and the vacuum time for 40 seconds. You may need to adjust the vacuum time up or down, using experience as your guide. You can do several jars at once, if they fit. Make sure it’s not a tight squeeze or the jar will break. Don’t ask how I know, but I will tell you the chamber is durable and easy to clean. For jars which won’t fit upright inside the chamber, you can place them inside a larger jar or canister outside the chamber, and use your accessories which you purchased separately to vacuum the large outer jar or canister, then release the vacuum and your jar(s) of product will be vacuum sealed.

Loved it at first but then it broke
I bought one of these to give as a gift for a friend. He loved it so much and raved about it so I bought one for myself. It worked great. There were a few little things to learn like how to increase the vacuum pressure and make sure there weren't creases in the bag. Tonight I was trying to vacuum up a few chickens I had cold smoked in preparation for the holidays. They wouldn't seal at all. Not even throwing error codes! to my surprise, when I lifted the seal bar, the c-clip that held one of the electrodes up for the seal bar had broken in half! It has fallen into the machine. I'm not sure if I could pull it up with pliers but even if I could, there's no chance I'd find c-clips anywhere around me this late at night. Plus, I don't even know what material they need to be made out of. I searched all over Wevac looking for a number to call or an email address to send a complaint to but have found nothing. This machine is sold as "commercial". My wife and I use it from time to time and clean it like clockwork. No "commercial" machine should leave me shut down after less than 5 months of intermittent use! Save your money!!!!

Don't hesitate, buy it!
All I want to say is HAD I KNOWN YEARS AGO. I spent years using a regular food saver bag and jar vacuum and I loved them. I went through 5 of them over the years. I spent about 3 years looking at chamber vacuums and wondering if they were worth the extra expense. This wevac sat in my shopping cart for about a year and then I removed it from cart. After about a year I added it to cart again but didn't purchase. Months later amazon had their prime days sale and being a homesteader, we are in the thick of preserving food from the garden, so the temptation was overwhelming. I purchased this wevac 12 inch. Then it sat on counter for a day, for some reason I was intimidated by it! But the garden called and I got brave and read the instruction booklet. IT WAS SO EASY. I gave the machine a try and I'm in love. It truly is easier than the regular vacuum machines and I'll never go back. This machine is a workhorse and even fun to watch although you don't have to watch it. Just put your bag of food in and close the lid. You can go bag some more food while it vacuums and seals that bag. It has made preserving our own food a joy on a whole other level!

Excellent performance . . .
I have used it more than a dozen times now. Compared to my “FoodSaver,” it performs better: with the FoodSaver, as the machine removes air from the bag, the atmospheric pressure compresses the bag and drives any liquid toward the seal. Using the Wevac chamber sealer, this is not a concern. Further, I’ve noticed that the Wevac does a better job of evacuating the air (evident when my steaks sink – often, with the FoodSaver, they want to float a bit). Also, it “double” seals the bag where my other machine only makes one seal (I’ve always added a second seal just in case). As is often the case with Chinese directions, they could be better. They’re good enough, but you’ll have to play with it a bit to fully understand the various functions. While you can set functions manually, I’ve found that the automatic settings are more than adequate. The construction is robust and the unit is heavy, but just as important is the quality of the electronics; only time will tell if these are up to par. Should their longevity prove adequate, the value of this machine is excellent.

Hot electronics smell, and odd dimensions.
I'm writing this review 1 day after my return window has expired. I got this for vacuum sealing jars and mylar bags with freeze dried food. I also have a basic FoodSaver vacuum sealer, which of course can't do mylar bags. Just as a test I vacuum sealed 12 steaks from Costco. I was able to do 2 in the FoodSaver to every 1 in this. That's to be expected though since this has to empty the entire chamber so I'm not dropping a star for that, just showing comparison. It did seem like this maybe vacuumed a little better though. Since this doesn't try drawing the steak juice out of the bag as it vacuumed you would think it would seal better, but I don't think it does. I tried different seal times, and it looks like a good seal, but sometimes slowly leaks. This is with their own brand bags and other brands. Sometimes there is a slight wrinkle that doesn't let it seal fully. I suspect they it's moving when it seals because I smooth it out as much as I can. There are 2 reasons I was checking if I could return it. This isn't a daily use item so I didn't catch things right away. I've probably run it through 30-40 cycles since I got it. Tonight I was doing 2 mylar bags, 1 regular bag and 1 jar. Doing the first mylar bag I started to get a faint smell of hot electronics. That seemed to be gone by the 3rd run, but it's certainly a concern. I don't leave it plugged in so I guess I'll keep using it until it dies if it is hot electronics. The second reason I wanted to return it is the size. I thought about this a week ago but figured it was my own fault for not comprehending the sizes and didn't initiate a return then. I knew the width, but most of my mylar bags that fill the width don't fit lengthwise, and I have multiple brands like that. So I can't fully utilize it because the bags that use the width are to long. Also, the distance from the clip that holds the bags open and in place is so far from the sealing strip that most of the mylar bags actually try sealing on the zipper section, which of course doesn't work. At first I thought it was a poor design of the actual mylar bags I have because the window bags worked with longer top sections. I've tried a few others and I can't seem to find good thick mylar bags that don't try sealing on the zipper. My last slight complaint is that I can't see what is going on inside since the top is metal. Some of the others are clear so you can see what is happening. I knew this when I got it, but realize now that would probably have been nice. Seeing if the bag moved or came out of the clip when closing the lid would reduce retries. I would certainly get the bigger one next time. I'll also be watching the hot electronics smell too. That may inform my decision on the replacement if this dies. Note if you get this done push the clip down with the bag in it like I was seeing in YouTuber reviews. Pushing the gray clip down is only for bags on the outside. It wrinkles the inside bag and it won't seal.

Sumamente recomendable
Excelente producto, mucho mejor que las tradicionales empacadoras al vacío

Great entry-level chamber vacuum sealer
This chamber vacuum sealer is compact but feature-packed. I love that it has an external vacuum function for items that are too large for the small chamber - it means I can get rid of my previous vacuum sealer, the Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro. I wish that it was slightly bigger, and could fit standard 28 cm bags. But on the other hand, the smaller size and light weight means I can store it away when not in use and bring out it without much hassle. I had an issue with the chamber vacuum sealer and got in touch with the Wevac customer service team via email. They helped me resolve the issue and I've been pleased with the functionality of the chamber vacuum sealer so far.

Awesome Machine
The V10 is an awesome vacuum sealer machine. Not had it for long but so far it has been a pleasure to use and hasn’t let me down. In fact, I’m always looking for opportunities to put it to use! It’s not complicated to use. The instructions are very basic and reasonably easy to follow, but could have done with little more information on how to use each setting, such as suggestions on what timings to use when sealing different sealer bags, or when Marinating. The auto function is great as the machine will determine how much pressure is needed and how long to seal. However, when I used this setting on raw sausages, I found the sausages were very slightly flattened. In future, I will use the custom setting to choose the length of time needed for suctioning on softer items (again more information about this setting could have been helpful). There is a sealer option for when you need to seal the end of a sealer bag, and if the item is too large to place in the vacuum chamber then there is the option to vacuum it outside of the machine. The V10 is easy enough to keep clean as any liquid’s will collect in the chamber but this should happen and this cleave machine prevents such accidents from happening. The machine comes with accessories to allow you to vacuum air tight bags, mason jars (you will need an adapter sold separately), and food containers. What I would have liked to have seen included is an item needed to vacuum mason jar lids that are too big to fit into the vacuum chamber. I am now having to find a mason jar sealer attachment and have no idea which one I can use that’s compatible with the V10. (Edit, Wevac also does a handheld vacuum sealer which comes with the two lid accessories to use on mason jars - You can also connect the V10 via the air tube that comes with the v10 to one of those lid accessories for ease of use and for better suction and sealing of mason jars). Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room. This machine is very loud, which worried me when I first used it as I thought it was broken! But I have gotten used to the noise now so it’s not all that bad. It also takes a while to vacuum and seal a bag but this is not an issue as it gives you time to prepare the next sealer bag etc. Also, there’s no off switch! You have to turn it off via the wall socket! Overall, V10 is an amazing vacuum chamber sealer. It’s great at prolonging the life of food items within the fridge/freezer, and helps reduces storage spaces as you don’t need bulky storage boxes etc. Also good at sealing dry goods in marly bags etc. So I I highly recommend.
