desertcart.com: Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Casimir Pulaski: The Lives of the Revolutionary Warโs Most Famous Polish Officers: 9781717318015: Charles River Editors: Books Review: Absolute Heroes Nobody Even Mentions!!! - Tadeusz Kosciusko and Casimir Pulaski both merit far more honor and respect that we as a nation give unto them. When the Iron Curtain fell the shout that rang out should have been Tadeusz and Pulaski -- WE ARE HERE! These two were giants among men but in far different venues. Prior to Kosciusko most American fortifications suffered from obvious fatal flaws that the British were able to exploit time and again. Once Tadeusz took over he came up with fields of fire, killing grounds various forms of abati, etc. His crowning achievement was West Point which was so well designed that it took the traderus Benedect Arnold several months to gradually tear it down to expose its fatal weaknesses. Fortunately the plot was discovered in time and the US remained in control of the Hudson. In addition to serving as the US Military Academy West Point is also an outdoor museum demonstrating the quality of the man's work nearly 250 years later. Pulaski's gift was to demonstrate to Washington how an effective cavalry unit could really help him with swift strikes, rear guard actions (see Battle of Brandywine) and other actions that followed. Unfortunately, this brave warrior died before the revolution was successful. This is a fairly short book, but it will hopefully trigger your imagination and help you want to learn more about these two giants from the revolution. Review: History at it's finest. - I love history and Charles River Editors make it so easy to keep you informed! As I have aged I find that I have forgotten many things and this is a quick way to refresh my knowledge. Thank you, guys! History at it's finest.

Courage to fight for freedom
I read this book for my pleasure. Both of these men had a dying devotion for freedom. These men were fearless and willing to give up their lives for freedom...

In badly inaccurate I'm
I have completed 67% of the book to this point; but I must stop and submit a review now because of its astounding inaccuracies. Although he was an excellent field commander and an extraordinary military engineer, Kosciuszko did not supervise the building of Washington, D.C.'s defenses, nor aid in the city' defense decades before it was founded. Additionally, Catherine the Great was actually a member of a minor German noble family before she married into the Russian royal house. She was most certainly not the daughter of Peter the Great! I suppose I will finish the book since I've gone this far; but i will diligently watch out for what else they got wrong.

Disappointed
Sadly, disappointed in this book. Just a brief overview of these two's life and accomplishments. I would compare this book to a High Schoolers Theme paper for a history assignment. If you want to really learn about these two, I would look someplace else.
