Green to clear pond water
This is an excellent uv filter. Water flow should not exceed 2500 gph. 3 days usage and I can see the bottom of the pond. I will use this for May,June and July, then unplug and have a viable bulb for next year. I used fernco fittings to 1.5 inch PVC.

Could have been perfect but...
I have this installed on my 125 gallon saltwater reef aquarium for algae control. It works. Too small to use for control of microbial pests like ich, but it really controls nuisance algae well. I bought the stainless steel model thinking it would be more durable than plastic. It's not what I had hoped for. The saltwater has slowly corroded the lower-quality stainless steel to where it now has several tiny holes that allow it to leak. The plastic did not fail, just the steel sleeve. The unit still works fine and could perhaps be fixed with JB Weld or 3M 3200 marine sealant but its not worth the risk. I did get almost 3 years out of it though so I guess that reasonable but still a shame because it could have lasted much longer if made with better steel or all plastic. I'm sure it would last much longer in a freshwater application however. You do need to replace the bulbs and clean the glass sleeve over 8-12 months to maintain effectiveness however.

Reasonable price
This looks like a pretty solid unit. Won’t know for sure till I start using it in the Spring. I like that it is compact and offers a 35 watt bulb.

After 6 months of use, I can say this is a beast of a UV sterilizer. Used on our decent size pond, even in hot weather, no algae bloom at all!

Bought this to clear algae from a 2000 gallon pond, and it has worked very well. It took about a week to get the water clear, and since then, the water has been very clear of algae. The device itself it fairly big and heavy so it will need a strong mounting plate to prevent it from moving. The only criticism I would have is the pipe intake and exhaust connectors. It would have been nice if the kit came with a couple 'L' connectors that would fit the couplings, since the connector coupling is specific to this unit and there are no parts you can buy that would fit it. I had to use a short section of pipe and a flex hose to get the desired result, which was not easy.
