I am the proud owner of a rather large vintage stereo system. I decided to try out some new tower speakers, but frankly I didn't have high expectations. It seems most modern sound systems just can't produce the exceptional sound I have come to expect from high-end ~1979 - 1980 monster stereo equipment. Most modern day towers under $1,000 are for TV's - they simply are not good enough for hi-fidelity stereo systems. They all seem to be either weak in certain frequencies or brash or lack clarity. They are fine for most people watching a movie, but listening to detailed music is another matter. When I first hooked up the Prime Pinnacle I was startled to find the quality and dynamic range of sound it produces. I had to play around with the distance from the wall and such to "fine tune" the bass but the Pinnacles are just stunningly good. Exceptional clarity in all the ranges and a pretty good 'tight' low end as well (my vintage speakers produce a lower frequency bass but the mixture of the speakers is just perfect). I have been studying any information I can get on how the heck these speakers work so well, and all I can say is the quality of build is exceptional, and for the price simply unbeatable. I am very relived and happy with this purchase as my original expectations were fairly low. If I ever need new speakers or want to replace older ones I know what brand I am picking - SVS. The Pinnacles are not setup for use as bi-amped speakers - there is only one set of speaker terminals and the crossover network is all connected internally. The speaker terminals accept several types of leads - wire, lugs, or banana plugs. There are no external fuses or reset switches, nor any switch for changing the phase (which you can do by reversing the speaker lead wires if you need to). The cabinet is simple on the outside, but very complex inside with all sorts of bracing and three separate internal spaces. The front cover pulls right off using 6 built-in retainer clips. There are 3 x 6.5 inch woofers, a mid-range driver, and a 1inch tweeter. The cabinet contains 3 separate ports in the back so getting the distance to the wall correct is important and something you just have to experiment with. The speaker is listed as 8 ohms, but 6 ohms seems closer to the mark given the impedance curve. The ligature says you can run these with 20 watts, but I would recommend a beefier system than that to get the clean non-distorted sound these are capable of producing (it will depend a lot on how loud you drive them). My only "wish" is that they had more cabinet colors available like cherry wood. These only come in back Ash or shiny black finish. These are extremely good tower speakers and especially at the price.

Sound amazing! These have been on my wish list for several years and finally decided to purchase. It was a great decision! Replaced my older Infinity Reference 2000.6 units.

Only received one speaker. Should be a pair

It was very close between the Prime Pinnacle and the Wharfedale EVO. My room is a bit of a challenge as it's taller room (14 feet in the middle) than most listening rooms. It's the only option so it's what I had to go with. The speakers are paired with the YAMAHA A-S801BL Natural Sound amplifier. The only con that I can think of is the low midrange response at times on flac and HD files. I added some warmth with plus 1 db at the 300 hz and 600 hz range. The system plays vinyl exceptionally well. These are a great price point for what you are getting. Highly recommended for any environment except for extremely tiny quarters. In that environment you're looking for bookshelf speakers anyway.

These have been reviewed to death. The shipping was one day off but no big deal. The boxes were tore up but the speakers are fine. I could spend more but then you have to upgrade everything else. Having both Polk and Mission speakers, I have to say these are accurate and expansive. No regrets.
