Update to my review - from 1 star to 5 stars. The Flood Buzz company has Great customer service. The company itself (actually a member of the owning family) reached out to me and appologized for the outdated product. They offerred to send me replacements for my inconvenience. I have already received my replacements, not outdated, tested, and work fine. I like that they are loud enough for me to hear (even if in basement) but not so loud that they freak out the animals. Great product, price and peace of mind. Thank you Flood Buzz! Original review: It did take a while for my order to arrive. I ordered on January 23, 2024. I received my order on February 6, 2024. When I opened the package, every single one of the "Flood Buzz Water Leak Alarm" had a "Replace by" date of 02/2024. I tested one and it did work, but I doubt they will last the "up to" 3 years the battery life the description states. "INTERNAL BATTERY IS FACTORY INSTALLED AND PRODUCT IS REUSABLE. The internal battery life of the water sensor lasts up to 3 years and the product is reusable" I will be returning with the hopes they will replace with ones that are not outdated. Not able to "replace" via Amazon... only refund. So, that is what I did.

One of these babies just alerted me to a leak in my bathroom under the sink. Sound could be a little louder but I heard it!

Water has to dampen sensor from underneath it, not above. Otherwise, it works fine. Loud enough.

Over a few years, we’ve had a couple of leaks. These sounded the alarms both times. The funny thing is that we didn’t know what the sound was. It seemed to be coming from a different part of the house as we walked around trying to identify the source!. Once, we disassembled a smoke alarm because we thought it was emitting a false signal. We couldn’t disconnect it from the ceiling wiring, so we called the non-emergency number for our fire department. Two firefighters also thought it was the ceiling alarm! Finally, one of them expertly tracked the sound to a bathroom 12 feet away. Sure enough, there was a slow leak under the sink, and this little gadget was insisting we must find it! We all had a good laugh. Now we have one under every sink and on the floor behind toilets.

Very convenient for tight spaces and it caught the suds overflow in our washers plumbing bib before there was a disaster

These little alarms saved me twice from what could have been a really bad flood under my kitchen sink. They are small, but loud and can be reused. I purchased a set to give to friends and family I liked them so much. They are not the cheapest water alarm but they work and will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars in damages by catching leaks early.

These work and are really easy to set up. There's basically nothing you need to do! We had a leak and wasn't sure where or how often it occurs. Thankfully these came in handy and set up off an alarm sound (maybe medium volume) when water was detected in the area. Really helpful in troubleshooting a leak.

Can’t go wrong with these little units. Just place them underneath your sinks, behind your refrigerator if you have icemaker/water dispenser, beneath your toilet etc. Anywhere you may have a leak. The non-replaceable battery lasts for three years. Hopefully I will never hear the alarm go off. But now have peace of mind. Very unobtrusive because of the small size.

Work well. Even if slightest bit of water on floor it will sense it. Added peace of mind. Priced right. Fast delivery.

It is now four years after I wrote this first review. The pods have an expiry date - probably because of the battery. We have purchased another set to replace the old ones. They saved our bacon about two weeks ago. The pod we had placed under the kitchen sink activated several times and we found small water leaks. They were easy to clean up and we called a plumber to come and see what was happening. He came and replaced the kitchen tap - which was causing the leak. Without the pod we would never have noticed that small leak. We live on the top floor of a condominium building - an undetected water leak that affected units below would have been tremendously costly. The deductible on the condo for water damage is $25,000!! We will always use these. Thanks I know now that it works really well. I washed the floor and slopped a little water close to the pod. It makes a progressively louder noise. Very well done. It stopped squealing as soon as I removed it from the water. I have them under all sinks, toilet, close to dishwasher and washing machine.

When I first bought the Buzz alarms I thought maybe they wouldn't work so well. Well I sure was surprised to find out it does work and well. The alarm sound is good, it warned me of a flood (actually a puddle) in my basement from heavy rains. Will buy this alarm again.

Works as advertised.... they even shutt off once out of the water... most don't!!

Probably like many buyers I purchased these after a water event. Our laundry room sink overflowed after the water was left on for about 20-30 minutes. Water flowed into a hallway which had a manufactured hardwood floor. We were able to clean if up quickly and after a week drying by the restoration company the floor was not damaged. We got lucky. Made me wonder why laundry rooms do not have floor drains. Anyway, a few days after placing the buzz detector my wife heard a high pitch squeal. We traced it back to the laundry room. The drain was leaking into the cupboard. We would never have picked it up without the warning. A good idea. Everyone should have something like this. I now have them in every bathroom as well as the laundry room and kitchen.
