Works very well to absorb recoil, but begins to slip after several shots.
I decided to take up trap shooting, so I pulled my old single shot 12 ga out of the closet where it had been sitting for a couple decades. For my first outing I shot 3 rounds of trap, or 75 rounds. My shoulder was VERY sore for several days after so I realized I needed to add a recoil pad. Before my next outing I bought and installed this pad. I shot 100 rounds and had no problems what so ever with my shoulder. My only complaint is that every 5 shots or so the pad begins to slip and I need to reposition it. It's a bit inconvenient but well worth it for the benefit I get from it. If you're hunting and only shooting a couple shots at a time this would not be a problem. So I would give it 5 stars for performance, bit I'm taking 1 away for the slipping. Overall I would recommend this. Adds about an inch to the pull length. UPDATE... This pad added at least an inch of pull to my shotgun so I decided to remove the butt plate which would reduce the pull by about 3/8 inch. With the plate removed and the recoil pad back on, the pad seems to grip the wood better than the plastic butt plate so it no longer slips after a few shots. Therefore I am adding a star to my review to make it 5 stars.

Shoulder Saver 3000
TL;DR This is an excellent pad that does its job. Slipped it right on to my mosin, but not easily enough that it could come off without intentionally removing it. I bought this before I had even fired my Mosin Nagant 91/30 after reading stories of the recoil and suffering shoulders. I took it to the range and put 30 rounds through it without any issue to my shoulders. A week later, I brought my buddy with me to try out the rifle and we put 70 more rounds down range without incident. That is, until we decided to shoot without the rubber pad. With the last of the ammunition I had, we decided to try it out minus the pad to see the difference. My buddy went first and sent two rounds out. The first shot, he was visibly uncomfortable and began nursing his shoulder. After the second shot he said to me, "okay, I'm putting this [recoil pad] back on." He quickly fired the last 3 rounds and remarked how he just wanted to get it over with because his shoulder hurt and that "the first two shots ruined [the experience]." So after 35 rounds with the rubber pad he was totally fine and after two without it his day was ruined. Now it was my turn; I fired once, twice, and thrice without the pad. I didn't have nearly the same experience as my friend, but I also have more natural padding than he does. That being the case, I could probably have fired many more rounds without the pad and not felt the same pain that he did but I decided to put the pad back on anyway to prevent the same outcome. Even having done so, my shoulder became a little sore shortly afterwards. Based not only on my own experience but my friend's as well, I can say that this recoil pad does an excellent job of saving shoulders from the recoil of Soviet cannons and I highly recommend it.

Good recoil pad for shooting Mosin Nagants
Purchased this for an M44 Mosin Nagant carbine. I had tried the M44 Mosin Nagant Rubber Recoil Butt Pad, but it did not fit properly, was very stiff and did not provide a lot of shock absorption for recoil. This Allen Company Recoil Eraser was much better, allowing me to fire 40 rounds without any lingering pain or discomfort in my shoulder. As a comparison, 3 shots with the default steel butt plate left my shoulder slightly bruised, and about 16 shots with the screw-on rubber pad left my shoulder a little sore; better than the steel plate, but not nearly as nice as this pad. By comparison, this slip on pad was amazing, and allowed us to leave the steel plate on the stock underneath. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to it not being quite tight enough on the stock, and not being a perfect fit. It fits snug but not tight, so felt like I needed to check it every 15 rounds or so. However, its absolutely great if you want to shoot a Mosin a bunch without having a sore shoulder. Would definitely buy it again for the same purpose.

Amazing difference when shooting 12 Ga. Slugs ! ! !
A few weeks ago I went to the range with my old Remington 870 shotgun. I used to fire slugs out of it regularly 30 years ago when I was a cop. I was shocked at how age and the loss of muscle mass affected the perceived recoil. After about five shots that day I was done. I began searching for a recoil pad and found a lot of different brands at a wide range of prices. The reviews for this one indicated that it was every bit as good as the more expensive ones, despite being so inexpensive, so I tried it. Today I went to the range and shot 40 slugs with ZERO discomfort. ZERO ! ! ! ! Installation was easy. Note that these are sized to be installed with your factory rubber butt end removed. (wasn't that an odd bunch of words at the end of that sentence). Then just stretch and slip this one on. To remove the old rubber butt end (there I go again, but it gets worse) just lube up a #2 Phillips screw driver and insert it into the tight openings to get to the screws and back them out. It's just not the same without the lube, but isn't that always the case? I unreservedly recommend this recoil pad. It made shooting slugs painless and the result was much closer groupings because I was concentrating on my sights and not on the punch I was about to get to the shoulder. Peace!

This is amazing for the money
I bought this for a traditions Deerhunter muzzleloader. This is a good sidelock muzzleloader but it comes with a plastic butt plate. If you are going to shoot only one time this is fine but sighting in the gun is a chore because the plastic plate hurts with medium recoil that the muzzleloader generates. I put this pad on and I can shoot the gun 7+ times and it doesn't bother me at all the next day I can't even tell I shot it. With the pad, I feel less recoil than from a .308 centerfire rifle with a decent recoil pad which means this pad really absorbs a lot of recoil. It works better than I expected.

Looks Good... BUT...
The absorbing pad is rubber and is about 1" thick, which is good. Installation is quick and easy and simple. The Biggest issue comes when shooting some shells with above average recoil. the pad rests on the existing buttstock, It doesn't fasten at all. This creates a recoil absorbing pad that is subtly shifting with each shot. You now have to adjust after each shot to keep the pad on the shoulder, or risk shots with recoil in the outer shoulder or chest, both of which are moderately uncomfortable. It does its job, but a lower-profile gel pad may be preferred. This also adds about 3/4" to LOP, which may make manipulation for follow-up shots difficult

I put this on an O/U shotgun and I was surprised how well it worked. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent product
I have three of these in small for use with K98 Mauser, Lee Enfield and a K43. They work better than I expected they would. I have to take blood thinners and without them even after 20 shots, my shoulder looks like I was kicked by a horse. Last week I fired a total of 99 .303 and 8mm rounds and I don't show any bruising whatsoever. The added bonus is the extra length they add to the rifle's stock makes them all fit me better. The only very slight downside is they need to be taken off the rifle for storing in the gun safe as the rubber and the wood finish on the stock do not get along well over long periods but that is a very minor issue. The go on and come off easily enough.

Perfect for russian SKS! (size small)
It's as if this recoil pad in size small was made for Russian SKS! It slides on and off easily (no issues getting to the cleaning kit), stays on securely, makes SKS comfortable to shoot for hours on end and adjusts the length of pull to be more suitable for adult arms (or at least man arms). All that for under $13! Not sure what else one could ask for!

Good "bang" for your "buck"
The Medium fit Browning A5 and Winchester 120. I was skeptical, because large was unavailable. I'm happy I got the Mediums now because they fit just about anything I put them on. Interchangeable in seconds! My only complaint is they add an inch to your shouldering. If it's a gun you've been using for years, you have to re-adjust your pull-up shouldering. To be expected...so 5 stars.

Love it!
Fit my Winchester shotgun perfect. Have a bad shoulder and no problem with my 12 ga. Was going to buy another for 303 but they're up to $53. I paid 12$ in April 2019. Too bad.
