Short of a prescription medication, nothing I’ve found compares to the effectiveness of Abreva. I’ve been getting cold sores on my lips since childhood. Fortunately, they’re relatively infrequent—usually only three to five times per year—but before I discovered this product, I’d just let them run their course. That was miserable. What would start as a tiny, barely noticeable itchy bump would often turn into a large, painful, bright red sore on my lip. Not only was it uncomfortable, but it also made me self-conscious about my appearance. Years ago, I picked up a tube of Abreva at my local drugstore, and I’ve kept it on hand ever since. It significantly reduces the symptoms and, more importantly, helps the cold sore clear up much faster.
