How do I access the screws after it is installed? I slid the lock to the side as in the installation steps, but the seat won't slide off the mounting base. It moves about half way and then stops. It won't come off.It is also noisy. It squeaks the whole time it is lifting. I REALLY WANT THIS TO WORK.

Why is it that males think they need to pee on the seat??? I have 12-year old and 16-year old grandsons and I was constantly ragging them to wipe up after themselves. (LESSON to ALL WOMEN: Make males clean up after themselves - I refuse to clean their mess!!) This seat raises so they cannot pee on it unless they try to hold it down ;-) !! I love it so much I bought a spare so I wouldn't have to suffer waiting for a replacement. MEN, TEENS and BOYS - Be considerate - either sit to pee when there's a female in the house or clean up after yourself - it's your mess not your wife's, your mom's or your grandma's. Thank you Minixi - you reduced the stress in this household by half!!!

The bolts that clamp the seat to the toilet bowl can only be accessed from the nut side... and there is nothing to secure the head of the bolt. Consequently you cannot tighten the screws down, it just spins and spins. This explains why the instructions tell you to use some double sided adhesive to secure it to the top of the bowl (not included...). Also... the rubber grommets that go through the holes in the toilet bowl are huge... even after slathering them with silicon grease I had to use a rubber mallet to pound them into the hole. Their design is very poorly thought out and a disaster to try to install. After a couple of hours messing with it, I gave up. Maybe it works on a Chinese toilet but it certainly won't work on an American Standard toilet. I would NOT recommend buying this until they get these issues resolved. A final thought... if they spent as much time on proper instructions, including the necessary parts and thinking through the mechanics of their product... that they do on touting that it is a cleaner and more sanitary product, they might garner better reviews. BTW they don't accept returns! but my credit card company will probably differ with them on that issue. At $100, it should work, right out of the box, like any normal toilet seat does.

I have two of these. Worked great until they both broke within two years. The spring hinge broke in both of them and no longer raises the seat.

The seat only slow raised for about a week now it just slams open. Not good quality for the price.
