This is the 3rd different brand of have purchased of the last 10 years. So far this is the best. TOP TIP THOUGH. ALL brands seem to jam up if you put in branches that still have lots of leaves on. The odd leaf is fine, but too many makes the chippings damp and they get stuck in the machine and cause a jam. I have been stripping the leaves on to the ground and then go over them with my hover mower. This cuts them up really well, and sucks them up, so they will compost much quicker. The chipper also makes very small chippings, which is great as they will also compost down quicker. ANOTHER TIP; This chipper comes with a bag to catch the chippings. Remember to keep an eye on the contents. They tend to build up at one end of the bag (the bit you can't see when you look down) and if you don't clear it before it reaches the bottom of the machine, the chippings can't get out and it causes a jam. The only minor downside is the wheels are too close together. This is not a problem whilst in use, but when you are trying to get it out or put it away and you are manoeuvring around things, it tends to fall over. All in all, it feels well made, works well and I am very happy with my purchase.

Bought this compact shredder as a replacement for an ageing Bosch screw shredder. Easy to assemble, clear instructions in the box and it has a long power lead. It’s quite lightweight so easily portable, but stable in operation. It ate nearly everything I fed it, but does jam on branches of 25mm thickness. Overall satisfied with its performance so far, only missing a star because it is very loud in operation - 106dB for prolonged periods of use means ear defenders.

Five stars for prompt delivery, as sods law would have it, weather changed so not been able to use it as yet. But I will say, the instructions are clear and easy to understand, the unit itself was easy enough to assemble which also includes the box spanner to do this. Just waiting for a dry day. Further to my last finally got to use it when I pruned our lemon tree. Absolutely brilliant, mulched the small branches brilliantly.

Really easy to use.. if you have a lot to do it will take time but you end up with great chippings. Not my first shredder but my best so far..

I have a lot of garden waste (hedge cuttings, small branches etc) that needs clearing and didn't want to spend months using my green waste bin or paying to run to the waste center. I thought this would be a good investment to help clear the garden. Unfortunately I am really disappointed with this products performance. Here are the negatives: - It's really slow to process - putting waste into the machine is slow, the opening isn't very big and each time you have to use the plastic board provided to push it down, which you have to constantly push the material you are shredding, the machine won't pull it through for you - It's really easy to jam, just by putting in a medium volume of material in one go, or when I put through some twigs, much smaller than the quoted max diameter, this jammed the machine. It then took me more time, unscrewing the front cover, to then show the blades and remove the jam. - The fact the machine wont pull the material down makes it especially difficult when shredding branches as they're hard to push down with the plastic board - the machine is also very loud for a garden machine, so it won't be good in built up environments. I would not recommend this garden shredder to anyone. I now have a really expensive piece of machinery in my garage which I will never use again, because it is so time consuming and inefficient I cannot spend time using it. I will have to pay someone to come with an industrial shredder to clear all the waste I had. Do not buy this.

Very noisy (most, if not all shredders are) so wear ear protectors when operating Need to keep exit clear to avoid the unit being blocked - switch off and remove power completely before clearing Unit overheats if operating for extended periods, particularly for large, difficult to cut branches - just take a break and once it cools down it will restart Plastic pusher broke after 3 weeks (replaced with wooden one)

Bought this after reading reviews and looking on consumer guidance comparison sites. Was a little worried as some reviews were very negative. Well, I'm a 70 year old woman, assembled it no bother and it works a treat. I've been using it for a few days shredding masses of garden waste and I'm very impressed and surprised at how finely it shreds. It's handling all sorts of twigs and branches such as hydrangea, lilac, and ivy. So far nothing has got stuck but maybe my neighbours are fed up with the noise. The machine has a good long cable and is easy to manoeuvre in and out of the shed etc. Some pointers: Ear defenders are definitely needed Long branches may twist and jump around a bit as they hit the blades, so stand back and use the pusher to help them through. Trim any awkward shaped branches to avoid them getting stuck and stick (no pun intended) to the size guidance Empty the collection bag regularly It doesn't fine shred leaves but that's not a problem for me So all in all, I would recommend it. Use it sensibly and I see no reason why it shouldn't keep on happily shredding.

Looks great, easy to assemble looks very well made. The weather has been too inclement to use it but what we have found is that the machine does not trolley well and is imbalanced .
