For starters- I’m a 70 yo female- have never done anything like this before! I watched a couple YouTube videos and dove in. The most difficult part was sliding the doorbell onto the wall plate. The clarity of the videos- both day and night are incredible. I am going to get another to replace the regular doorbell at the side door, now that I know how simple the installation is. Great product, reasonable price- very pleased with my purchase! ****update— the biggest issue is it’s not “authenticating” quickly. Everything else that is hooked up to the internet works fine, this thing— by the time it makes it through all 3 authentication steps- the issues or person I was trying to view out front are long over. I’ve tried restarting the camera, WiFi etc- all the things suggested… yet here we are- not able to live view because it’s been on step 3 authenticating for more than several minutes then tells you to restart it. So frustrating. ***So now it completely doesn't work -error code 90, which I looked up, did all the things, which is a complete waste of time- it's still offline. So if you only need a doorbell camera to work for 2.5 months, this is super! If you have a need to be frustrated because your device doesn't work and all the "fixes" fail and you are left with a nonfunctioning doorbell camera that you spent money on, well, you've come to the right place!

Ok, here it goes...I REALLY like this doorbell. This replaced a 2nd gen Ring. I really like the smaller footprint of the Wyze, along with the chime that's included with it. Great bargain there, as the chime is programmable to different alert tones. The image and video from the camera is great...DAY OR NIGHT! it's very clear and almost zero lag from real-time. I power it with the same adapter (18vac) I used on the Ring V2. Installation was a breeze, as I only need to make 2 holes in the mortar and anchor it in. Setup...Take your time, and follow every step. You'll find that the setup is very easy. When you get to the part of Setup where you been to scan the QR code, hold it in front of the camera, then load it up on your network. I emphasize that because I made the mistake and tried to scan the code with my phone. LOL Once I got over my brain-fart, the rest was easy...VERY easy. Network connection...The Wyze is NOT 5G compatible...yet, so I loaded it onto my 2.4Ghz. I was concerned about it being mounted outside of a brick home, so I have a wifi extender on standby ( I needed it for the Ring V2). Much to my surprise, I don't need the extender. I'm getting a full wifi connection with no extender (you may find your circumstances to be different). Alexa...enable the Wyze skill and don't look back. I have a first gen Echo Show. It shows me the doorbell, but the video is in a different orientation, which I cannot change. But I believe that to be an Alexa issue. But I'm satisfied with the full-screen video I get on my phone, anyway. Overall, I give this unit 5 stars because of it's ease of installation, setup, and performance. I believe other features will be implemented as time moves forward, making this doorbell even better...time will tell. But for now, I'm very pleased...and surprised over the efficiency of this small doorbell. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good doorbell...along with a very inexpensive annual or monthly subscription to benefit from all of it's features. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The installation of this was a breeze! Basically, remove your old doorbell, wire this doorbell to your original doorbell wiring, wire a fuse to your doorbell chime connections inside the house, done! Obviously, follow the actual steps that Wyze has for installation, but installing this was definitely simple if you're installing this where you're current doorbell is located. In the Wyze app, when you select "add new device", you can select this doorbell for setup, and it will then guide you through the entire setup process for installing, and also for connecting the doorbell to the app. Once I installed the doorbell, and set it up with the app, it worked great for the first 24 hours or so until going offline. Pressing the doorbell manually didn't work either. Resetting the wi-fi didn't fix the doorbell, but resetting power to the device (flipping the breaker for the doorbell power) DID work! After a few days of flipping the breaker whenever it went offline, I found a fix for this issue. Using a toggle switch in-line with the fuse at the doorbell chime (inside the house), I was able to toggle the device off/on without having to reset the breaker to the doorbell. After using this toggle switch to reset the device a few nights in a row (after it would go offline), it stopped having this issue entirely. I probably could have contacted their support and figured out a different fix for the issue, but this worked for me. After fixing the issue I mentioned above, this doorbell has been working great! I really enjoy the video quality, and the Wyze app is smooth, and easy to use. The doorbell chime is loud, and has different sound options, which I think is a nice feature as well! Overall, for the price compared to other video doorbell systems, this Wyze doorbell seems to be a great buy! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay under the price of some of the other competitors out there.

This is awesome we love it the video and view is very clear so is the night time view only complaint is that it's alittle lag not bad but I get an alert and by the time I open the app the person is walking away but it does record for a couple of seconds so you can go back and see who it was so it works for us the lighting is great and it looks nice too you can hear it perfectly all in the house i would recommend if you dont want something that you have to pay for every month also it was easy to install the app is also easy to understand so I do approve this brand and will be buying more for there gadgets so I can have them all under one app

**IMPORTANT UPDATE AT THE END** For the price and the quality I am happy with my purchase. The Wyze Doorbell works just as advertised and though I did not have an existing door bell box and the existing wires for the original outside doorbell were non functional. My sisters grandson opened the package and he discovered on the back of the camera there is a rubber protector over a place where you can use an android style phone charging cable to power the camera, YAY!! So I drilled a hole in my wall and threaded the wire through the hole and it works. No issues to date. Have had it installed for about 2-3 weeks now. Will update this if anything changes good or bad. Update (and it’s not good): Less than a week after I posted the review above I had issues which I explain below. We didn’t know that the rubber “seal” on the back of the camera was only covering the port to keep it waterproof and is only meant for the manufacturer to use to do what they need to do to the camera. I did not find out that removing the rubber seal voids the warranty until yesterday when I began having issues with the camera not connecting on my app which keeps happening starting around the afternoon yesterday and into the night and today still. I’ve checked the camera several times and made sure my connections are good, yet I still continue to have issues. Eventually I got tired of dealing with it on my own yesterday and decided to do some troubleshooting using WYZE app and this is when I discovered magically my sisters grandson voided my warranty unknowingly when he removed that rubber seal to use his grandma’s phone charger cable to power it to see it work… which he did the moment he took it out of the box and discovered a hidden power port behind the rubber piece. He is 13 and he is growing up in this electronic digital age, yet he didn’t know it would void my warranty either because it didn’t have any warning about it. I don’t think that it is right my warranty is voided like this without WYZE doing a better job of warning and informing their customers. So I AM changing my rating from 4 stars to just 1 ⭐️ I believe there should have been a CLEAR visual warning about this issue- not just in the information about the doorbell, but also right on top of the camera as you open the box should have a warning ⛔️ in giant red letters or something like that, and furthermore, it should also have been made clear that this camera will not work for homes without working preexisting doorbell electrical wiring. As I discovered by total accident that powering it like that can ruin the camera as they said the voltage coming from the wall is not the same as what goes to the doorbell wiring according to WYZE Troubleshooting and it can destroy the camera itself or worse, it can even start a fire in the home. I’d say that is worthy of letting people know in great big bold red letters across the back of the camera or right as you open up the box and in the information about the camera or SOMETHING easily visible, wouldn’t you? So, that all said- I do not recommend it. Especially not for anyone living in a home without working preexisting doorbell wiring, unless you’re able and willing to run new wiring to power this doorbell camera. There definitely should have been a clear big red letters warning about it and there was not. I don’t blame the kid. I blame WYZE!!! This is the first issue I’ve ever had from everything I’ve gotten from them and it is a BIG issue to me. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth about WYZE right now to be perfectly honest! I’ve purchased three of their products and I doubt I’ll be purchasing anything else from them without seeing a big change in how the company informs people of important safety information about their products!

Seriously, I should be a paid spokesperson for Wyze -- I ordered this device to replace a less-than-desirable Arlo doorbell. As with the other two Wyze devices I have, I cannot say enough about the quality and ease of setup and operation. Installing this was super simple - two screws and two connections, then plug in the chime. The only annoyance (of sorts) is the updating of Firmware, but better to have that than not. The picture quality is excellent, the night vision is super clear, and the motion alerts are functional. The great thing about this is that it works right away via the Wyze App. Just add and name. One app for all cameras and the notifications were immediate, instead of delayed (sometimes by hours) like the previous product I tried. We have the app on multiple devices, and all get notifications properly. Both my wife and I can be in the App at the same time, too! Seriously, I can't say enough about how well these products are. I own two others and both were equally easy to install and configure.

We have been loving this video doorbell for the past few months. It gives me peace of mind and extra security. Installation was simple, once we figured out that the breaker for the doorbell is often on the same circuit as the air conditioner and furnace! It takes a little work to connect the wires at the door, and at the old chime in the house, but nothing too difficult. There are multiple different doorbell sound options and volume settings for the chime (which you just plug in, connect to the doorbell through the app, and go!). I love that we don’t need to pay a monthly subscription to have this extra layer of security (though there are additional services available for additional fees if desired). It is sleek and low profile, quality of the camera is decent in light or darkness. The position of the camera can be adjusted by using the included angled plate. We love this doorbell camera (as well as our other Wyze cameras)!

I looked very closely at the information for the Wyze doorbell prior to installation, because the Wyze outdoors security cameras (I bought four of them with solar panels) have a very clear message from the manufacturer, NOT to position the cameras in direct sunlight as it will damage the camera. Upon looking very well in the description AND asking (on the Amazon site) if they could with stand direct sunlight, I found no evidence that direct sunlight was an issue. In fact, I was told (in response to my questions) that indeed, they can be mounted in direct sunlight without any issues. This proved to be false. I mounted the doorbell which worked beautifully for about an hour. After which it went offline. I didn't everything to bring it back online, but kept getting a message that the QR code was incorrect. I finally called Wyze where they to attempted to bring it online, doing the very same things I did with the same results. To their credit, they did (without hesitation) decide to send another doorbell to replace the bad one and began processing the reorder while I was still with him on the phone. Also, they emailed me about every step of the process and it's current stage or position. In one of those emails, it dawned on me to ask if there is a problem with it in direct sunlight (I'm speaking with the manufacturer, so surely they will know if the new one can handle it or if I need to hang an awning to protect the doorbell) and again the response was swift and very clear..... yes, direct sunlight WILL damage this doorbell. It sure would've been nice if this was put in with the description as it is with the cameras. I'm still gonna use this doorbell because of the beautifully clear picture it gives and the distance of the clarity. Also, the customer service is second to none. I've NEVER had a more pleasant engagement with a company that I have a damaged product with. They are swift, don't argue or push blame, AND begin the process for a replacement within hours of the initial complaint. Wyze, you're customer service is outstanding!!!!. My only suggestion is that you put the sensitivity of the doorbell to direct sunlight in your description of it (thereby allowing us to decide if we still want it due to the location of the door and direct sunlight). It'll save your customers time and struggles. 😉

The Wyze doorbell does not come with a power supply/transformer so this has to be purchased separately. Installation and setup is quite easy and straight forward. The Chime unit is manufactured for the American market and therefore requires a converter socket to connect to a UK outlet, it comes with a good variety of tunes and with maximum volume selected it is very loud. The main NEGATIVE with this doorbell is that IT DOES NOT WORK WITH ALEXA IN THE UK!! It does work with Alexa in the USA and a request has been posted (approx 3 years ago now) on the Wyze Forum to apply the same upgrade for the UK but at this point in time this request has not been fulfilled. So in the UK Alexa will not tell you that someone is at the door nor will you be able to see who it is on your Alexa Show units. It is for this reason that I have given it a three star rating.

I recently purchased the Wyze Video Doorbell with Chime from Amazon, and I must say I'm quite satisfied with its performance. Despite its smaller size, this doorbell manages to pack a punch and gets the job done effectively. The installation process was relatively straightforward, although I did encounter a minor setback due to not having the right drilling bit for my brick exterior. However, once that hurdle was overcome, setting up the doorbell was a breeze. It took me approximately an hour, but I believe it would be quicker for someone with the proper tools. One of the standout features of the Wyze Video Doorbell is its impressive video quality. Whether it's day or night, the camera captures clear and sharp footage, allowing me to see and identify visitors clearly. Even in low-light conditions, the night vision mode performs exceptionally well. While I find the Wyze Video Doorbell to be a fantastic addition to my home security setup, I do have one concern. Given its compact size, I worry about the potential for theft or tampering. It would be great if Wyze could incorporate additional security features to address this concern. Overall, I highly recommend the Wyze Video Doorbell with Chime to others in need of a reliable video doorbell solution. Its compact design, excellent video quality, and easy installation make it a worthwhile investment for enhancing home security. I hope this review captures your thoughts accurately.
