Reads very accurate, in my oponion, because its belt driven. It feels like high quality. Runs smooth. Resets at the handle, so you don't have to pick it up or bend down after each read. I've used several different brands in my job every day,(traffic signals); this is by far the best.

How small is the wheel when folded. Looking for something that will fit in a 1510 Pelican or a backpack.

16" per their spec sheet. Should be fine for a backpack but I am not familiar with the Pelican case.
