Nylgut ukulele strings were invented several years ago to offer a modern alternative to traditional gut strings and they have become a huge success-the standard of the industry. The new Super Nylgut strings are our latest upgrade in the field of synthetic gut strings and they offer improved playability with a very smooth and polished surface feeling like a wax treatment. These distinctive, pearl-colored strings offer greater tuning stability than ever before and are one of our best-selling lines of strings. Review: The wire wound low G is about the same gauge as the E string. A low G string that is unwound(like Fluorocarbon), you will need to file the nut to accept the larger gauge. My opinion: this is the best reason to have this wound low G as you can go back to high G anytime without that gap in the nut and keep your uke in original form. The one draw back is possible fret wear depending on your uke fret material. If you plan to slide your finger on the wound string you will hear the slide finger noise just as on 4th string of a guitar or baritone uke. I find the sound of Nylgut strings are mellow in comparison to Fluorocarbon, which are bright sounding. Hope this helps. Review: They have a good reputation though. Kept as a spare

Item arrived on time, packaged neatly, and appears as advertised. The strings do indeed have a pearly sheen to them, though it's only really noticeable up close, as well as a slight translucence. The back of the packing has a helpful chart on which string is which, and one end of each is tipped with a different colour to make them easily identifiable. In contrast, another set of extra strings I have (They came with my ukelele) simply have numbered tags attached, which is fine for putting them on but could be annoying if you take them off and want to know which is which. As a new player, I can't really speak with experience about the quality of the strings or how well they hold tuning, but the brand is well known for quality and they feel nice to me! They are NOT 'wound' strings; if they were, they wouldn't be nylgut. I was able to clip the extra length off the ends after stringing my ukelele with no unravelling, as they are one long string of solid material. Very pleased with them overall!

Replaced my old use strings with these, nice mellow tone, fairly loud but use a plectrum if you want really big volume.

En mi opinión la mejor marca de cuerdas para ukulele, además de excelente calidad su color aperlado resalta la apariencia de cualquier instrumento.
