Pink Bleeding Hearts - Perennial Garden Flower Root

Very dissatisfied. Came almost dead. Planted right away. Still dead. Thought I’d leave it alone, hopefully next year will grow from the roots. Should have asked for replacement or money back. These are one of my favorite plants. So was very heartbreaking

I planted it a couple days after receiving it. The first piece started to turn brown and eventually died the second piece lasted longer and I moved it to a spot with not much direct sun but some sun and it died 3 weeks later. They could've sent more than 2 pieces better chance of survival rate possibly. Didn't last a month.

UPDATE: It is now April 1 2024 and the last photo shows how much it's grown since March 27 (hand for size comparison) OP: I was going to wait a few weeks and if it didn't grow I was going to think I got a dud. The item arrives as an entire bare root (looks like ginger) with the dehydrated stalks which would look like roots to a newbie. Completely cover the root leaving the pathetic tendrils out of the soil as demonstrated in my photos. After potting or planting immediately water well. I did not add the dome for probably a week but if you add it from the beginning they will sprout much quicker with the protected humidity. I received my root on March 19 and it is now March 27 and I already have many sprouts! This is a sign of a healthy plant! Bleeding hearts like shade. I keep this on the north side of the house with indirect lighting right up in the window for now (we have a 4' eve so it's entirely in the shade still). It's a root and is fairly draught tolorant but not in the beginning. Keep it humid warm and happy to get a good set of strong sprouts. I may update my review as it goes along. I have not decided if I want to move this outside.

I wery satisfied with the bulbs received. I'm anxious to see them bloom next year.

It arrived as a bare root packed in peat without any planting instructions. I figured out planting for my dead-looking root as best I could based on reviews by successful purchasers - shallow (about an inch) in damp miricle grow potting soil with what appeared to be the non-root part poking out about an inch. I was not sure I planted it right. Unlike other purchasers, I guessed correctly for planting. The attached picture is the planting after an about a week, when small green leafs appeared to confirm life. Planting was ondoors in a hanging planter intended to go outside in the end of May. The plant seems to be continuing to look better. I will update with a progress picture in a month after I learn how it deals with its move outside.

Didnt grow, waste of money! Would rate no stars if possible. Ordered one of each of the red, pink and white and none grew.
