So….
I’ve been transitioning from a regular mattress to a shikibuton over the past 2 weeks and I’m down to a 1” memory foam so real close to the real experience. It’s not always the most comfortable BUT when I’m sleeping it happens to be some of the best sleep sessions I’ve had in a long, long time. I struggle with some sleep.issues and I’ve seen improvement with time asleep. I would say I’m sleeping an extra 30-45 min a night which, if you struggle with insomnia, is huge. My fav part is crawling under the duvet, OMG I love it. If you are going to try this for the first time, be prepared you will be uncomfortable for a while until you adjust. I would think the experience will be personal and exceptional to you so my experience could be very different. I took one star away because there is a lack of choice in terms of bedding. I would have liked to see more variety in what colours or patterns I could have picked.

Amazing product! I've never slept well on a traditional western mattress, but a few weeks into this and I sleep so soundly and wake refreshed! Shipping was quick and well packaged, highly recommended.

Great quality
My son lived in Japan for a while and his back benefited from sleeping on a futon on the floor, so he decided to get one when he got back. The quality of this futon is great, firm but comfortable, and the sheets that come with it are made of 100% cotton. The product is not cheap but it comes from overseas so the cost is understandable I guess. Very satisfied!
