51036 High-Performance PET Cloth Automotive Wire Harness Tape, Black, 19mm x 25m, 1 Roll

This stuff is brilliant. Not a full-time repair guy so I had no idea this was an option. Purchased this tape put it to use. Ran around finding other uses because it gets the job done.

I'm a diesel and heavy equipment who was looking for something better than standard vinyl electrical tape. This stuff is awesome! This is what lots of medium duty and heavy duty trucks use on wiring harnesses along with heavy equipment. This stuff stands up to heat abrasion much better than standard vinyl electrical type plus it doesn't leave a weird residue after applying and removing.

UPDATE: Had a small engine bay fire that took me 20-30 seconds to fully put out. On the wiring that i had wrapped in 51036, the wiring inside of the tape was in perfect shape. The tape "melted" and turned into like a hard plastic case around the wires, and saved the wiring! The wires that were wrapped in the factory tape or that were just bare were destroyed. This 51036 is noticeably stiffer than the 51608 interior tape Tesa offers. Also seems a lot more durable and abrasion resistant, definitely need a razor or sharp knife to cut it, it's not as easily tearable like 51608. Goes on easily, not as stretchy as 51608. Sticks to itself very well. It should be pretty heat resistant and fire retardant. Doesn't seem to leave any residue like regular electrical tape. Looks much cleaner than electrical tape wrapping, sticks better, doesn't leave residue, and is overall a better solution

well its made of cloth i used it to cover exposed copper wiring on my EVSE juicebox charging cable its already showing the bare copper again after moving the cable to/from the vehicle charging a few months now this is more for engine compartment, under dash wiring, etc. where it will not be exposed to abrasion or movement

This black tape is strong and love the black color. Have used it on my adjustable bed hand remote, the battery holder on this control is so easy to break, made of plastic, Use this tape to secure this battery holder.

Fantastic tape I use it for making wiring harnesses and works great will definitely buy again

Cars got 335k miles and needed some of the old wiring wrapping, this worked a treat
