This holds just a very small amount of hair. More for baby or small child.

I remember growing up, my mother use to always have these in a little dish in the bathroom. She used them all the time and my sister & myself use to take one (off and on) to use too. Now that I’m older and my hair is thinning, I started looking for a hair clip that would work for thin hair and not fall out. When I was looking, these Goody Classics Stay Tight Hair Barrettes popped up. My first thought was …. “Oh, mom use to use these”. So I had to order just because of my wonderful memories from 60+ years ago. Plus if they are still being used after all these years, they must be good so I ordered. When they arrived I smiled again of past memories and put one in my hair. They stayed tight and held my hair back the entire day. Now I know why after all these years, they are still popular.

Believe the reviews that say these are hard to open. Also, I was hoping they would be the same size as the very old Goody Mock Tort barrettes that I have one of. Nope they are a little bigger (about 1/4"). The ends of the barrettes are more open, so my fine hair slips out of them at the ends of the barrettes.

These are horrible and nearly impossible to open. I got them because I thought they were the old school big ones that I can’t find anywhere, but they are tiny and super stiff. I hate them

They are nice barrettes but way too small for me. My fault...as I ran a search for 3" barrettes and these popped up so I bought them. As the description clearly states, they are only 2". I tried to use them but could not get them unclasped. They are really hard to open and close. I do not want to have to wrestle a tiny barrette in and out of my hair. Since I tore up the package getting them out, I will not return them, but will donate them.

Smaller than expected based on photo. Some dimension info would have helped.

A good inch and a half shorter than their original barrettes. Hard to slide thick hair through.

I like the small barrettes because I like to only pull up a small amount of hair so that I don’t have a sore head from pulling up a lot of hair and a big clip
