Looks nice- subpar quality.
It is a composite material like a pvc fence. Had two panels cracked when unboxed- tons of styrofoam- so I don’t think it was due to shipping The “screws” were plastic and the holes that were supposed to be threaded were not in 5 locations. We literally used packing tape to get this thing together. Fortunately, our 10 month old puppy is only 15 pounds and not aggressive with his crate. This thing is NOT worth the $300+ we paid for it. It fits in the space we need it to and fits the aesthetic… but man is this thing crappy quality. It fits in an IKEA 22x39 Pax closet… if it’s a few bit off the back wall.

Stylish and Functional - you get what you pay for
I recently purchased the Homestead Sliding Barn Door Furniture Style Dog Crate, and I'm quite pleased with it overall. Assembly was mostly straightforward, and while it came with tools, I opted to use a power drill to speed up the process. I was able to put it together all by myself, which was a definite plus. One of the standout features of this crate is its aesthetic appeal. It looks incredibly cute in my home and is a significant upgrade from my old metal crate. I've even repurposed it to hold plants and other decorative items, making it both functional and stylish. However, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The material is more plastic-like than I anticipated, but surprisingly, it's not very noticeable once assembled. The sliding door can be a bit sticky at times, but I've found that keeping it open resolves the issue for me. Additionally, the interior dimensions are slightly off, which means my dog's bed is a tad too big for the space. Despite these minor issues, I'm overall impressed with the Homestead Sliding Barn Door Crate. It adds a charming touch to my apartment, and most importantly, my dog seems to really enjoy it. The value you get for the price is definitely worth it; as they say, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a crate that combines style and functionality, this one is definitely worth considering.

Not bad, but overpriced
It was fairly easy to assemble and didn’t take too long, but the worst part is the sliding door. The door does not slide or open easily, so the bottom is constantly being scratched every time you open the door, which makes the paint come off. Very cute, though.

Poorly Made kennel. does not worth the cost/spend
I received this product with one panel edge separating. I didn't want to go through the return process. So, I attached the loose/separated end using a screw. Assembly of the kennel was fairly simply. Within 2 days I noticed loose bars which began to fall out of position. Conclusion: This product is not sufficiently rugged for the intended use. that is, my pet has a calm temperament and does not try to pry his way out of his kennel. and knowing this, I can only conclude that: 1. This definitely is not the kennel for disobedient pet. 2. The use life of this product will be short, because within 2 days pieces/parts were coming apart 3. This product is of poor quality 4. This product is not worth the cost 5. I purchased this product on 11/14/2021. Two corners begun separating on 11/26/2021. 6. What a waste of my money. If i had the shipping box, I would return this product. So I have placed it outside for bulk trash pickup. 7. this product is not worth the sales taxes I paid. 8. Cost $355.00+? give me break

Very Functional
The plastic screws should be metal as I am worried about their holding ability over time. Looks good and so far works well. Some difficulty tightening the plastic screws and getting a few to hold.

Cost versus Quality
So...I took a chance, even after reading the reviews. I'm going to say a lot of what others have already said. The cost, versus the quality of this product, is just not worth the expense (in my opinion). - When this was delivered today, the first thing I did was check the box for any damage. There was none, so that was good. - Opening the box - the crate parts are packed with styrofoam all around. Ok, so there was another positive. - Took the parts out and found a couple of parts had scuffs on them (one is in the attached pictures) - The top part of the crate had a long break in the side molding. (Picture attached). I decided I could glue the broken molding on the top part. And so I began to put the crate together. - the sliding door has a lock you attach. There were no screw holes in the door for the lock (yet those holes are clearly pictured in the instructions). Being somewhat handy, I drilled pilot holes for the lock, but only after I put the crate together (so I could ensure I'd measure it right). - the main parts of this crate are held together by plastic screws that you can only screw in via the tool they provide (picture attached). It was not easy to get these plastic screws to work with the assembly. And I'm not a fan of having to keep the plastic 'tool' for these screws, in case they need to be replaced. - for the top part of the crate and the plastic screws: I could get three of the 4 required plastic screws to connect. For the 4th one, I had to use the longer, spare, plastic screw. - for the plastic screws in general: many of the holes were not easily aligned. I had to use a lot of force and pressure just to get the screws to 'catch' in the plastic joint, and then I could tighten the screw. The crate comes with a 1 year limited warranty. I'm about to put that to the test as there is a card included that talks about how to get assistance with damaged or missing parts. I really wanted to like this product. I typically view reviews about 'damaged parts' as a fluke and the fault of delivery. The damage I found with this was not due to the delivery process; it is the processing of how the parts are made by this company (I'm sure it has to be a conveyor belt of these parts getting thrown together). I don't know how well this is going to hold up. I got the large crate for two dachshunds. They're small and not heavy, so I suspect this will hopefully work for the two of them. If I had a larger dog for this crate, I'm not certain it would hold up. If the warranty and damaged parts replacement holds true, then I'll likely up my rating.

Ehh
The material of it isn’t very sturdy. Kind of cheap. The bottom frame of the sliding door popped off in less than a week of us getting it and the sliding door gets stuck quite a bit. It’s alright.

Piece of Trash
This thing is an absolute piece of trash. It’s easy to assemble, but that’s because it’s junk. I bought it because I wanted something to look nice in my living room, and crate my dog only while I’m at work (not at night). My first clue should have been when this thing showed up demolished and in pieces. I repaired it because I needed something ASAP, and there were no issues with the door- this was going in a corner. The FIRST DAY my dog was left alone, she chewed two bars out of the door and jumped out the window. We were in a pinch, so repaired with duct tape (that’s the orange on the bars). She proceeded to chew even more of the door off to get the bars out and jump out again. The third day, I put a chair in front of the door. She wiggled and maneuvered and messed with the door somehow, and got out again. This thing is plastic, and is ABSOLUTELY NOT CHEW PROOF!!! IT IS TRASH! Unless you have a very small/weak/older dog, do not waste your time or money, my dog hulked right through this thing!

Very Poor quality
Side walls came with a manufacturing defect preventing the floor from being installed correctly. After I fixed that with some bolts from the home Depot. my 8 pound puppy was able to break the door within the first 5 minutes of being in the crate. Glued that back together but you'd think something made for a "large dog" could handle a 3 month old pup..

Nice Crate!
Like the crate, it fits in like a piece of furniture. It is a little loud; when our guy wants out, he dances in it which every one in the neighborhood can hear him 🙄. Would purchase again if you are going to long term crate your dog.

Not worth the price
Easy to assemble. Quick delivery. Price too steep for quality. Damaged so returned. Also when dog laying down, can’t see out. Nice looking crate but not the quality we expected
