Perfect for sleeping on long flights or napping in the office
I'm amazed at how comfortable this pillow is. I recently flew from the United States to China and back. The international flights were each 12 hours long. Using this pillow, I had no problem sleeping during the entirety of the flights. One thing that really sets this pillow apart from the competition is that I can sleep with my head forward or leaned back. When you put this pillow around your neck and connect the clasps on the strings on the front of it, the pillow will stay put very well. It will support your neck from all directions. So, if you want to let your head lay back into the seat, you can. And if you want to just slightly tilt your head forward, you can also do that very very comfortably. In fact, I personally prefer to simply let my head tilt forward ever so slightly, and let the foam pillow comfortably support my neck while I fall asleep. I never imagined that sleeping with my head tilted slightly forward would be so comfortable. But, if you prefer to let your head fall back against the seat, then you will sleep comfortably with this pillow as well. In fact, being able to sleep both ways is nice, because it provides variety. Also, this pillow supports your neck from the sides much better than those crappy pillows you see in the stores in the airport. Another great thing about this pillow is that you can squeeze it to be about 1/4 of its normal size and put it in the carrying bag that comes with it. This is convenient for stowing the pillow in a backpack or small carry-on luggage when not using it to sleep. Although I bought the pillow just for the flight, I ended up also taking it to work with me so that I can take quick power naps sitting in my chair at my desk :)

this pillow works great!
I have tried the inflatable horse collar pillows and really like them--but they each developed leaks, so I wanted to go w/ something where I wouldn't have that problem-- but I knew I'd be dealing w/ a bulky "actual" pillow. Not that much of a problem w/ this one. You can really squish it down, strap it down w/ the velcro strap, and keep it in the bag--not as bad as I thought it would be. I find the attached velcro strap a little short, so I'm going to put one of my own on it, that goes all the way around it and really squish it down, and stow it in my carry on. I've taken this on 2 very long international flights (40 hours one way), and just recently within the USA--so it's already been tested enough by me to make me happy. As an actual pillow--great! Just what I wanted once I realized how well the horse collar pillow works for me. I can actually sleep sitting up or leaning. I find it to be comfortable (I'm 5'6") and I just tuck my chin in once I cinch down the toggles and nod off. My head doesn't flop to the side--it just stays supported upright. I've also tried wearing it backwards, and find that it works better that way w/ some seats. It's not so bulky that you can't sit normally in an airline seat--I really just don't seem to notice it. I also found that when I'm awake, it works nicely as a back support too--I just open it up and lay it behind my lower back. VERY comfy and versatile. I've even used it at home when I've had a neck stiffness/strain, and just wore it regularly as I was lying in bed, instead of a flat pillow. I won't have to worry about it bursting, just have to remember not to leave it on the plane! (I've done that but got it back) I am TOTALLY happy this--and when I'm on a 40 hour door to door travel jaunt, I need all the comfort I can get. And sleep.

This Soft and Comfy Pillow Really Helps on Flights
I have tried a lot of different things on long haul flights, from inflatable neck rests and cross-body options to old throw pillows, all in an attempt to get even a tiny bit of comfort and rest. Nothing has ever worked. Then I heard about the Evolution Pillow. After reading many reviews, I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad that I did. This pillow fits snugly around the neck, and best of all gives tons of support so that you aren't constantly doing the awful head bob dance. And even though it is very supportive, the pillow itself is super soft and comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving this pillow 5 stars is because the inability to squish the pillow into its carrying bag very well--that and it is a bit bulky, although the handles on the bag can be looped around the handles of a suitcase, which makes it easier to transport. All in all, I would definitely recommend this product to other travelers facing long plane rides.

This Is What I Needed
To start, I would not call myself a "well seasoned" air traveler, since I've only been on seven commercial flights. However, four of those seven have been "long haul" flights (approx 12 hours each). After trying an inflatable pillow that I had high hopes for, I realized that my personal needs were for something 1. More comfortable, and 2. With CHIN SUPPORT. If my neck is crooked to one side, I wake up with...a crooked neck. My head does, inevitably fall forward (hey, man, I can't afford to fly business or first class) when I am forced to sleep upright and that doesn't really work out for actually sleeping. So, after looking around, I came across the Evolution pillow. I liked the design (including the flattened back to not push the head too far forward) and the elevated support it looked to provide. Hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed again, I bought it. Well, I am so happy to report that I really love this pillow. It is very comfortable for me, and I find that I like to clasp it, then spin it around so I get the best chin support and the ability to rest my head on my seat. I was actually able to get a little sleep on those long haul, overnight flights in economy. I also used it on my trip, sometimes to sleep with just because my neck doesn't always like pillows away from home. So, what are the drawbacks? 1. The clasp - the button on the clasp doesn't do anything, except remain as a non-button on my pillow. I just pull the clasp apart with a little force. Hasn't broken, seems to still work. 2. It's not terribly compact. It's also not an inflatable pillow. I just couldn't get it quite as small as the picture of the filled bag looks. That's pretty much it, but I'm willing to make a little extra room in my carry on (for those super restrictive airlines) for this baby. I didn't find it had any smell to it, as others have reported, and if you don't mind a "collar," this is a great buy. Supportive, yet soft, it suits my needs.

pretty decent - but couldn't live up to the hype
I heard about the cabeau evolution memory foam travel pillow all over the internet when it first came out. It was touted as the best of the best for travel pillows so I figured I would give it a try. It's decently comfortable for plane rides and has a good clip to hold it together as well as a removable shell for easy washing and cleaning. Sometimes the fabric would be a little itchy on my neck when wearing it for a while and the build makes it difficult to wear headphones for a long period of time. (I usually wear ANC headphones while I fly) The carrying cover(?) didn't have the best construction and the ends of the clips broke off after a few years. Overall, I would say it did its job for what it was advertise as but the build isn't the best and has some shortcomings. I heard they have a newer product now that seems pretty promising so I might try that one in the future and compare it!

No More Head Bobbing
I'm someone who can sleep anywhere without a problem so when my last travel pillow got gross I just threw it out and haven't looked back. However, recently I had a slew of long flights coming up and thought it was time to get another pillow. I was a little dubious of this pillow seeing that people were complaining about it possibly riding high. I'm relatively short - 5'4" but I didn't have any problems. Frankly, I think you need that height so that you can get the kind of neck support needed for (relatively) comfortable sleep. I absolutely love the clasp in the front because for the first time ever I didn't experience neck soreness or that irritating bobbing sleep you often get on planes. I was also worried about the high ride because I have Bose headphones. I'll confess I just switched to earbuds and haven't actually tried my Bose headphones with the pillow. However, I fall asleep so easily and stay asleep with this pillow so that I don't really even notice! I like that it rolls up so small and quickly resumes shape when you pull it out of the bag. It took me a little while to master the cinnamon bun rollup but I've got it now. I feel like the bag is a little weird because it is so wide, but it works and once you get the roll-up technique down, the pillow is so easily stowable in a purse or bag which I love. I also was concerned about issues that others wrote about - smell, foam density, etc. And as a full time student I was leery about the price, but after two recent long flights I have to say that I think it was worth it. I rarely review, but I think people should know that this is a worthwhile, quality product.

This is pretty much the only travel pillow I've used that felt ...
This is pretty much the only travel pillow I've used that felt comfortable. In many ways it's more like a neckbrace than a pillow, as support goes from your shoulders all the way under your chin. When locking the "U" together, you can't actually really move your head around very easily. This, coupled with the thin zone at the back of your neck, means you can comfortably nap upright in airline seats. It's actually kind of hilarious because when my girlfriend used this, she leaned onto me and her head was kind of floating in midair instead of being on my shoulder. Later she commented that this was way better because it prevented her neck from being sore. Being a memory foam pillow is advantageous in two ways. First, it comfortably conforms to your shoulders, neck and chin with just a right amount of cushioning. Second, it can be rolled together quite tightly and then packed away into its included bag in a compact package. I can point out a few downsides. First, I'm not entirely sold on the velour cover. It attracts lint and dirt, and it also doesn't seem to be that durable as there are some visible 'stretch/scratch' marks on it after a couple of trips (though it didn't break). The second is that the memory foam does get pretty warm- this might actually be an advantage in some situations, but the lack of breathability does make my neck damp sometimes (though not outright sweaty). The phone pocket is a good idea, but execution is a bit lacking in that it's too small for many modern phones- I use it instead to hold its pouch but it would be nice to have a bigger pocket in future iterations.

Frequent Traveler Assessment: Great Design / Needs better Material
Description of myself as a user: I travel every month on overseas flights (so quite frequently for 10+ hours). I am 6 feet tall, 160 lbs, and have a fairly lanky neck and big head. I also have a mild sleeping disorder that stems from poor posture and humidity related sinus issues. I have used memory foam pads (Costco brand) for my home bed but they have trapped too much heat and are not soft enough to contour my spine and posture during sleep...its not comfortable to and creates neck pains that keep me up. Reason for purchasing the product: This is obvious, I wanted to take advantage of limited space in an cabin seat to rest my head comfortably without a lot of movement so I could relax and fall asleep. I also wanted it to be more portable and convenient than most travel pillows so I can stow away and retrieve fairly effortlessly. Product Assessment: This meets my needs for the purpose ultimately but it still needs some "evolution" in it's memory foam technology. The design is very well engineered and easy to put together and take out of the bag, all the way to harnessing it around your neck. The main issue again is just the material used for the memory foam. I'm not a fan of memory foam due to the heat it traps and because it will either be too plush or too firm. This unfortunately becomes too soft (which is what I would rather have supporting my back) so my lanky neck still tilts (too much) to one side. I would (personally) prefer something that is more contoured for longer necks so as to improve stability of the head. Other than the memory foam issue, this is an amazing product. Now keep in mind, some people may be perfect for this technology and design. I'm just a shy below perfect so I rate it 4.5 stars. Great product, great though put into the engineering, easy to put together and stow, just needs an improvement in the memory foam.

well chosen after much research
After hours of research, i went for this puppy for my uk to New Zealand flight, and back. Was i dissapointed - defo not. Would i pick again - no. It works fantastically. After having a few before and always getting neckache or dealing with frustrating air leaks, this pillow is the one. No neck ache at all. It's structure is meaty enough to keep your head upright. A lack of padding behind the head means your head isn't pushed forward - great design. The toggles clip together and adjust to fit varying neck sizes. The material is super comfy. It really does roll up to 1/3 it's size to be placed in a small bag (provided) Don't delay.. buy this amazing travel pillow!

Love it!
Love it!!! This pillow is so nice and cozy while still providing the needed support. I haven't noticed any issues with stitching, in fact it seems very well stitched to me. I did manage to squish it into the travel pouch that came with it, however it sure didn't look as slick as the picture. Oh well no worries, it's sooo lovely.

Super comfy
I have used the Cabeau Pillow for several long-haul flights and it proved to be very comfortable. I did not have any neck pains, even after 12 hours on a plane. It's also easy to fold and carry around attached to my backpack. Quite happy with this product so far
