Capable EDC knife.
I have no complaints. Had this knife for a while now and it is very nice.

This knife is very high quality and was razor sharp out of the box. I’ve had knives of all kinds and price points, and this one is great for the price. Looks great, has a shark blade, and the edge holds up well to standard use. The spring assist works great and helps to open quickly with just a small push. The grip is solid and feels great in my larger hands. Size and weight are great and feels light for this quality of a knife, but does not feel cheaply made because of the lighter weight. If needed, I would but this exact model again.

So I have never really owned a pocketknife or carried one. I basically wanted a pocketknife that would have some utility and also possibly for defense that was legal carry within my state. After pouring through dozens of knives and reviews, this one kept coming to the top. Exterior: The feel of the knife closed it very rugged and tough. The outer grip is textured it what feels like heavy grains of smooth sand coated in a rubber paint. Excellent grip and no slippage when held in the palm. The metal is cool and feels only moderately hefty, but just the right weight to feel confident at tasks. The design of the exterior is functional and looks very nice in flat black. I almost bought the olive drab version but decided to save the $10 dollars and get the black one on sale. On edge, the width of the casing is a slim 1/2"... So pocketing it is not a problem. A minor thing, is that the clip for the knife is pretty tight when inserted into a pocket. It might be overly tight imo but one thing for sure is it won't be lost if you use the clip. I have seen that others have modified and reversed the clip which is something I may try. Action: Opening the knife is fairly smooth. However, if I had to be nit picky about anything it is that it can take some force to flick open one handed. The tip of your thumb can be rubbed a bit raw from open and closing if you use your finger nail and thumb tip. After further experimentation, it seems to work best comfort wise further back on the thumb near the first digit where the folds of the skin are. I may try and bevel the points where you flick the blade out, as they seem a bit pointy. The motion is just a bit forward and outward and it snaps right open. Closing the blade might be a two handed affair. While you can do it, it might be risky as it takes some force to the blade closed all the way. Blade: I am not an metallurgical expert, but the metal feels excellent. As others have mentioned it comes razor sharp (missing some forearm hair as proof!). This is not a toy, by any means and should be treated with healthy respect. I love the look of the blade, being a middle ground between elegant beauty and tactical appearance. The curve of the top of the blade is great, and the point ends like a razor. Summary: This is a awesome knife, and I am very pleased to carry it as my first pocketknife. The look and quality is 100% where it needs to be, with only two minor quirks in some of the function. (pocket clip and thumb points) But nothing to stop me from recommending this to others. Look no further and get this made in the USA knife!

I purchased the black Blur with black serrated blade in September of 2006 and I am still using it daily (7+ years later). I have never sharepened it, yet it still has an edge that is nearly shaving-sharp and the serrated portion will cut anything. I have used this knife for everthing from opening boxes to cutting insulation to cleaning a deer and it has never failed me. The speedsafe opening is excellent. The finish on the blade is holding up amazingly well considering what it has been through over the last 7 years. This knife has a very sturdy feel in the hand, but is constructed thinly enough to fit comfortably in a front pocket. In short, if you are looking for the best multi-tasking knife that will fit in your front pocket, you've found it in the Blur.

This is my first Kershaw Ken Onion knife. Up to now I have carried a SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TFSA-98 Flash II 1/2 Serrated, Black TiNi . I was curious to try the Kershaw knife on a Gold Box offer since it was so highly rated. I will say the Tactical Blur is a nice, solid knife and has a sharp edge to it. It has both smooth and serrated edges to it, so it would be useful to cut most anything. As advertised, you can easily open it one-handed, and it will lock securely in the open position. It does not open anywhere near as easily or quickly as the SOG does, though. I was surprised by that after reading all the glowing reviews. The Kershaw knife does not have a safety, though, so its stiffness in opening may be an added safety feature. It is a little thicker and heavier than the SOG but not enough to make it hard to carry. I carry it in my front pocket and really don't even know it's there until I reach for it. It has a coarse rubber texture on the handle which makes it feel very secure in my hand. The handle also has a clip. Overall, I like the Tactical Blur knife. I think it is a good pocket knife for every day carry. If you want a knife with a faster assisted opening, or prefer one with a safety, you may want to consider the SOG TFSA-98 Flash II. You will feel good with either one in your pocket.

Wanted to wait at least a week to see how well it would hold up under my normal use and just wow. Came sharper than any other knife I have purchased and holds this level very well. I was really wanting something with some sort of locking mechanism because I would be using this as an Every Day Carry and work knife so I didn't want it jump open in my pocket. I was worried at first but after a few days, no worries. It would take a hell of a lot for this thing pop open unintentionally, but opens smooth as butter the second you need it. Grip is most comparable to a softer coarse sandpaper that makes it comfortable to grip and durable enough for rougher activities. The coating on the blade is a "soft"? gun metal gray that is very aesthetically pleasing and hasn't shown any type of wear so far. Very affordable and functions like a dream. Can't say enough good things about this knife. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.
