Not 100% effective
It says that it's normal for the child to still be able to reach and suck their fingers but will get over that in a few days. We're on week 2 and my 3yo still goes for her fingers. I would say this product is about 80% effective. It seems like breaking the habit is going to be a long road for us and I don't blame the product for it.My biggest complaint about the product is that the velcro is sharp and scratches me a ton. I have scratches on my face, hands, and arms from my toddler wearing this. It makes it difficult for her to be around my newborn because I', worried it'll scratch the baby. I'd recommend the maker to add stitching around the velcros so it's not so scratchy. My toddler also gets itchy from having this product on. Whenever I take it off, she goes ham on her elbows and scratches like crazy and makes me feel so bad for making her keep it on all the time.I will say though, that my girl doesn't mind having it on when it is. She's still able to do her day to day activities only with a stiff arm. I get a lot of looks and people asking me if there's something wrong with her arm because it looks like she broke her arms lol.I hope this all pays off sooner rather than later!

Did not last
Fell apart after a few weeks with the velcro coming off and one of the hooks for the band breaking. Before it broke my daughter learned how to get to her thumb with it on and seemed mostly unfazed by it. It did however prevent her from sucking her thumb all night long simply due to the extra effort needed.

Marginal Benefit, Unsuitable for Summer Use
We got these almost a month ago for our daughter who chronically sucked any finger on either hand and wouldn't stop no matter what we tried. We finally splurged on these cuffs (a 2-pack) to keep both arms away from her face, especially while she slept. For the the first week, she had to wear them at all times except meals, but her habit quickly dropped off in the second week--Great! We optimistically theorized that the 21 day estimate would be plenty of time to break the habit completely. We kept her wearing the cuffs for two weeks during naps and nighttime, but when we saw no signs of her trying to suck fingers, we let her take them off for nap times only. Within two days she was back to sucking. So, we resumed cuffing every naptime for another two weeks. But leaving them off even for one nap time (because she was so hot--these are hard to work with in the summer), she was sucking her fingers again. We keep trying to replace the cuffs, but she is miserably hot and the velcro on the outside is SUPER SCRATCHY. It's scratched up our arms many times, even raising red welts and spotting blood on the skin. For her, the inside is relatively soft, but the velcro pokes right through her thin summer nightshirts and also scratches her face when she tries to move her hair out of her face. We are thinking we might have to give up and try again in the winter.I will update this review then, if there is improvement, but as of now--one month into a summer of trying to break the habit--these have been scratchy, hot, and apparently, not fully effective. :\ For the price, I'd think a higher quality, softer-on-the-outside velcro could have been found or maybe a more breathable mesh to make these things more comfortable.

Good product but didn’t work for us
I think in theory this is a great product to stop/deter learned behaviors, however was not a great fit for our son. He is 3.5 years old and has been sucking his fingers since he was 3 months old. He’s dedicated to this task apparently and none of the other products have helped. We tried nail polish and topical creams (even hot pepper) and it does not sway him from those fingers. I bought this thinking if he couldn’t get to his fingers then voila problem solved. I was wrong. First he showed me he could still get them in his mouth (packaging did say that would be possible). Next he turned into Houdini and in a span of 2 mins took off both arm bands. Next morning handed them to me and said “I don’t like them. You take it”. Needless to say attempting to keep using this on my child is not an option. I am hopeful it would work for someone else though (who is not Houdini or Macgyver reincarnated), so I have recommended to other frustrated parents. Good luck
