Better than the Big Name
We have 2 pool gates. One of the better known brand latches broke (an internal issue that can't be repaired although we tried), and we replaced it with this one. It's more substantial than the original, works more smoothly, and comes with a key for extra safety to keep even adults out of the pool enclosure when we're not home.I don't know about long term use, obviously, but so far we're impressed.

When it got cold outside the sliding spring mechanism froze ...
When it got cold outside the sliding spring mechanism froze and we could not open the gate.Had to pry the lock open with a screwdriver and now even in fair weather it’s stuck in the unlocked position.
