Escapee dust.
This product is expensive for what it is; it costs more than the bit that does the work! Two things, (1) it limits the depth of cut of the disk to about 20mm, (2) the dust collection is only about 70%, the other 30% still escapes into the room. Still, 70% is better than nothing! But it does make the cutter safer to use by covering the blade more.

Reasonably effecticve at reducing the level of dust etc given off by the machine when connected to a quality dust extractor.
