Are these strings for folk/classical or acoustic guitars I've never heard of silk and steel before just nylon and steel strings separately

They are intended for steel-strung guitars. They should work fine on acoustical, acoustical-electric, or even electric guitars. I am using these on all of my guitars. They are called "Silk & Steel" as the outer layer is a combination of a silk & steel interwinding over a steel core. Obviously the unwrapped strings are steel only. These strings produce a mellow tone and I also like the fact that they are silver-colored instead of brass. The silk makes them a bit easier on your fingers and quieter when sliding your fingers.

I have an acoustic wide neck guitar with nylon strings. Can I put metal strings on my guitar? They are more bright.

Sounds like your "acoustic wide neck guitar" is a classical guitar. If so, you should stick with nylon. There are lots of different brands and types of nylon strings. If you are not liking the sound you are getting, try a different brand and weight. If you want to change to steel strings, you should get a guitar intended to use steel strings. Just FYI, these silk and steel are pretty mellow ("warm"). If you want a "brighter" sound, you should try a different string on a guitar intended to use steel strings.

Real silk from silkworms? Or a synthetic nylon or poly-blend?

Real silk. I can talk and talk about them. But I'll put it this way. They are strings I often use on several guitars and even prefer for the Martin dreadnought. The sound is a bit softer and smoother across low to high. Less tension than anything, tends to give lower action on most guitars. Very soft on the fingers. if you know anyone new to guitar ONLY let them have these. Makes a huge difference for new players. Everyone really should give them a try for an acoustic. Finalmente un suono come piace a me

Arrivate oggi, montate sulla chitarra (LAG T318D) sulla quale usavo corde Daddario XS 12-53 con un bel suono, ma per me un po' troppo "metallico". Alla ricerca di corde diverse ho visionato quasi tutti i video comparativi delle varie corde su Youtube ed alla fine ho decisi di provare le SILK & STEEL EJ40. Prime impressioni sono state subito molto buone, corde morbide, suono caldo e al tempo stesso brillante, adatto al mio modo si suonare. Spero che resti così per un po' di tempo e non si "scurisca" troppo nei prossimi mesi, in ogni caso a cquisterò subito una nuova confezione di ricambio.

Klang und Spielbarkeit auf hohem Niveau

Auf den EJ35 Saitensatz komme ich immer wieder zurück. Schon nach kurzer Einspielzeit hat meine Seagull S12 einen perfekten Klang. Kein Blechsound oder scheppern bei softer Bespielbarkeit , transparente höhen und einen akzeptablen Bass. Die Tension von ca 120kg gibt der Gitarre eine chance über Jahre zu bestehen. Man muß kaum nachstimmen. Ich finde die Addario echt top, habe noch nichts besseres gefunden. Gruß aus Köln
