HunterFan Company, 51090, 42 inch Builder Snow White Low Profile Ceiling Fan with LED Light Kit and Pull Chain

My niece stuck a broom into the 42-in fan destroying one of the blade-holders so we looked for an alternative (however the bearings were going-out). It seemed more-economical and easier to replace the fan than try to access the bearings and replace the blade-holder. This fan wasn’t the cheapest, but it looked elegant and well-made and had a good sell-price. For me it was a 4-hr job standing on the bed and a step-stool and tightening all the parts as well as connecting the wire-nuts to the existing wire. What makes it take so long is trying to get the right angle on the screws when driving them in above your head. I had to take short-breaks from muscle-fatigue. However, I was proud with the results and the high-setting feels like a heavenly-breeze. I still feel a since of pride from installing the fan when I pass that room and sometimes I will lay on the bed in the dark and appreciate the cool, quiet, relaxing-breeze.

The only negative I'd say about these fans is that the older ones they replaced had four lights in the light kit.The new ones only have three lights.I would have liked to install the old light kits on the new fans but this was not possible, so I make do with slightly less light. they are not easy to install if you don't have experience doing this, and if the ceiling isn't 'prepped' for the fan.I hired electricians who took about two hours to get both of them safely installed.Hunter has always been the 'quality' brand and I was shocked and dismayed to find that the older ones I had owned for 14 years had a serious design flaw that could have resulted in them falling from the ceiling and causing injury; this has been corrected in the new Builders. Hunter should have known better but at least they corrected the problem.The new fans are completely safe and I suppose I got my money's worth out of the old ones.These fans are quiet, efficient and since the are 'flush mount' they leave a bit more headroom.

This fan is perfect bedroom sized fan. Easy to assemble- very quiet- runs smooth /no wobbling.We have had many other brand fans over the years - and have to say even if the hunter brand is a little pricier it is worth it !!!!!
